ok so i went and rotated my tires today at my schools shop and i was looking in the well just peeking at everything and i notice my leaf springs are bending the wrong way (as in up not down). It wasn't on a lift and i jacked the jeep up put all four sides on jack stands with the tires off. ive never noticed it before, i never really looked i guess. what can cause this? and what do you think i should do.

The stock XJ springs are generally flat without any upward or downward arch. When fully loaded the springs will arch down. I wouldn't give it too much though, it is normal for the breed. ;)

Old man emu are about the best riding aftermarket springs I've ever encountered for the XJ. Just don't make the mistake of getting the heavy duty versions unless you intend to add a lot a weight with aftermarket bumpers, a winch, roof rack/basket.

Can't really help you there as every XJ I've owned either rode on its stock springs till it was sold or was lifted slightly. Personally, I think a 1.5 or 2" lift and 30" tires are perfect for the XJ but that's just me. :p
I guess you could try looking into the oem upcounty springs which won't raise the Jeep by more than an inch and will be a little stiffer than the stock springs on a non upcountry.

my xj is stock height like i like it but here is a link to he OME springs. I never bought from this place, just showing a starting point.
you could also just go to a local spring place. they can usually make you anything you want.

x2 on the local spring shop if you don't want to lift it. Maybe some add a leafs if you want to do it yourself.

Your springs are old and saggy, that happens to 90% of cherokees out there. Add a leafs will make your ride very harsh. its time for either stock replacement springs or a re arch of the stock springs or a lift kit that replaces the springs. You will hate you self if you get an add a leaf kit. I hated mine so much i went out and spent the extra money on anew leaf packs.
