Or am I the only one who found that funny?

It looks OK but the euro tails to me kill the look in the back. Maybe the tires should be a little smaller. But other than that why not.

I'd rather have the white XJ he's using to prop up the ladder he needs to get into that little penis syndrome monstrosity.

I'm not a huge fan of the tails either and it does need stronger axles if your going to really go off road. And if you're not going to wheel the snot out of it wht do it? I really hate the small penis remarks either for lifted or lowered rucks. It's just stupid.

11-15-2009, 10:03 AM
Well in that case I am stupid. The Cherokee in the original post was a waste of money because as you've already pointed out it isn't really capable of serious offroading, it would be painful to drive on the street and he'll be lucky to get back a third of what he's invested.
Yep, I am the stupid one here.

I thought if you put alot of money into a jeep, it still be worth retail price? lol.
That's alot of money for a 1999 Jeep.

I wouldn't think he could get half what he's asking. I wouldn't take it for free unless I was sure I could sell off the idiotic lift parts.

I never said you were stupid, just the small penis comments no matter who uses them.

I agree with jeepnjeep the penis comments are a little childish. I don't mind of someone says barf or eww or what ever because its not everyones taste but some people actually have them for a purpose. whether for hunting job or just fun. you can't take any stock jeep and match what that could do. yes the tails are gay ide break them and put on the originals but i would take that jeep if i had the chance.

Really. I think anyone would agree that it's funny to think this guy might have built this Jeep to overcompensate for some deficiency...

The "big truck little penis" cliche has been around since before most on this board were born. Hell it has been around since long before I was born. Psychologist have a name for it and it is a real phenomenon. Anyone who takes offense to the statement or calls the use of it stupid, silly or childish might want to read up on the subject. No not all guys who build "showy" vehicles have small penises and no not all guys with small penises will build showy cars. However, there can be no denying that some folks do indeed attempt to over compensate for their own perceived inadequacy. Folks want to call me out for using the phrase? Fine by me but it ain't going to stop me from using it. Makes little difference really, as life goes on.

Well I am well endowed and like lifted trucks and guns (another BS comparison to small penises and other material things) so I am one example of this being a load of crap and just an infantile argument on something you don't agree with. I really don't care if you use it or not. To me, it still stupid and childish.

Not only would you probably fail a rudimentary psychology class, chances are you'd not fair too well in any class on logic. You are basing your declaration of stupidity and childish on a fallacy of personal experiences. Just because you believe yourself to be well hung and you also like built up Jeeps & guns, does not negate the fact that over compensation is fairly well established in the field of psychology. That it doesn’t apply to you personally doesn't really mean anything outside your personal world. ;)
jeepnjeep
11-17-2009, 11:10 AM
Now your getting personal. You have no idea of what classes I could pass or do well in. You do not know me at all so please do not presume to. I made a few comments that were my opinion and I do not care at all how you feel about that. Do not attack my intelligence, thank you.
As for over compensation, I'm well aware of that phenomena but simply because someone wants, needs or just feels like lifting or lowering a vehicle, that does mean that he or for that matter she needs to compensate for anything. It's personal choice. Get that?
Joe in PA
11-17-2009, 02:11 PM
If one fails to show a basic grasp of a subject and or the use of logical debate skills it is blatantly obvious without assuming anything. You claim to be aware of the concept of over compensation and then turn around and state that a very common manifestation of the affliction is nothing more than a choice because it doesn't apply to you. The title of this thread is the "perfect cherokee, which would suggest that what is for sale is somehow as good as it gets.
I'll go back to my original post in this thread and repeat that I'd rather have the stock white XJ for a fraction of the cost. My having pointed out that the vehicle in question looks an awful lot like the result of someone overcompensating for a perceived inadequacy was neither silly, childish or stupid. Actually it was little more than a humorous reminder that life is indeed stranger than fiction. Most chose to laugh it off and a couple felt the need to defend their manhood even though the XJ isn't theirs. That's another well known psychological affilition but I digress. :D

Gentlemen, no personal attacks are allowed here. If you guys want to do that, take it to the flammables locker.
And for what it is worth, my opinion is that it is your money, your Jeep, you do what you ****ing want. I dont care.

If anything I've stated in this thread is seen as a personal attack, just say the word and I will be on my way. Not my site and not my rules but if one must couch their words in the face of ignorance or illogical arguments, ain't much sense in sticking around.

Blah, blah, blah. I didn't realize you were a psychologist, I suppose. The OP, which was mine, Was never intended to become a bitching session but I must admit, I have added to that. As others have said, you do to your vehicle what you personally like and screw what others think. If you really want to believe lifting a vehicle or modding it in any way reflects your manhood go ahead, I simply disagree. That's that makes life interesting, ain't it?

Apparently pointing out the logical fallacy of your arguments is considered by some as a personal attack. Therefore I am pretty much done with this thread as it was clearly a waste of my time. Have a nice life.

Go for it! My son has a friend who builds some outrageous XJ and MJ's. If and when you want to do it, I'm sure he can hook you up You're kinda far from NY but you could call him for advice, what parts, how to build exo-skeleton cages, etc.

X2. Does anyone know or has slept with the guy selling the damn jeep? I hope not LOL but you don't know what his story is. He could have inherited the damn thing of got the parts for cheap or did it for fun. It's a matter of taste if you like it or not. Some of us like street cars, some like off-roaders and some like both. Let’s get over it and move on. I don’t like where this convo is going. Now lets get down to murdering some GM's or I'll have to put a spell on you......
