I have an 09 wk 5.7 hemi and my friend just got a brand new 2010 vw gti 2dr manual, he has an intake and exhaust and i have a bwoody 4 inch intake, he does not get his license for another month, but he says his gti is so fast. He wants to race me and thinks he will smoke me off the line, but idk he has to worry about shifting and I have awd and automatic, will he beat me that bad?

but get ur self a bwoody intake and tune it right ur golden :)

Maybe he'll get you off the line till you get up to around 4-5k rpm's

Turn esp off, put that baby in drive, brake torque it to around 2k, sidestep the brake, slam the gas, hold on tight and you will eat him up.

His 0-60 is 6.9 if he know's how to drive (but he doesn't even have his license yet...LOL)
A 2005 Hemi was 6.8 and yours is a 09 with VVT so you will smoke him!

I'm surprised he said that he'll take you off the line, from a roll maybe and that's a big maybe... lol, but off the line... NO WAY...! You'll beat him easily, don't worry, even if he knows how to drive manual really good you can still take him...

How old are you guys? Who do you think will win? Light+Turbo=FastWith the mods he mentioned on both cars I'm sure that his new '09 5.7L HEMI will beat that light and turbo thingy in the 1/4 mile, after the 1/4 mile the VW might take him.
HEMI+NO AERODYNAMICS still faster in the 1320 than the light+turbo.

I've raced a Neon SRT4 with more mods than my SRT8 at the time and my SRT8 is heavier and non turbo. Guess what... I still beat it. ;)
Same goes for STi and EVO's. They are turbo and lighter, I still beat them :).
Can't go by that now a days.

tdi and 2.0 t are 2 different animals. you will take him off the line but he will catch up so make it a short race.

Not that I'm sanctioning street racing or anything but what's the harm in just running him? He better beat you but 1/2 a football field to feel good. Anything closer than a car length should embarrass him IMO. If you happen to beat him (50-50 chance), he should sell it and ride a bike :)

For exhaust i will be getting a dynomax bullet muffler, unless someone gives me a reason not to

Thats why im asking ha, if i was into racing on the streets id have the answer.
ive been working since i was 13, started as a bus boy at $6 an hour plus tips and then a waiter. So thats how i got this thing with a little help from the parents
