Check em out...E55 was totaled last month, replaced with an 09 550i...Vantage was bought used and sold 3K miles later. The Mini is still around, great car. S4 is a great little car as well...

just thought I'd share some rides...family has also owned some Range Rovers (96,00,02) C43 AMG, CLK430, 01 996 Turbo, 98 C4S, 98 XK Cab ALL of which I drove whenever I could...if I washed them all, i could drive them all!:D:D:D

That thing sounded amazing, but was a PITA to drive; horrible clutch, made you work...but it was SOOO worth it...I think i might have one of the engine bay...I will look on some discs later :)

haha...no the jeep is MINE! Bought and paid solely by me...I drove a Rover in high school, got a truck for college, and finally made my first purchase. I am def not complaining about the Jeep and very happy! Plus i get to drive them when I go home; although w/o the AM and the E55 it is not as fun of a selection :)

Doesnt that E55 make you want to cry? That car was amazing...I raced a Ninja to 140mph from about 80 going uphill and he could not pass me! That thing fing PULLED!

Dude that Mini is money...check out the GP edition, they only came in one color-combo and made limited #'s...last year with Supercharger, rear seat delete and full suspension/brake upgrade...My dad has owned over 15 porsches in his lifetime, and other than speed the Mini is as fun as any of them (it is still pretty quick). When he told me he was going to get one I laughed and called him gay; but once I drove this one I quickly changed my tune

Ltrain get one...that 5.4 Supercharged V8 was AMAZING! I cannot explain how are that thing pulled, from all speeds. My fave was the 60 to 120 on the freeway...you get a little gap b/t the cars ahead of you and everyone that was behind you are lil specs...cost to repair was well over $30K (new hood, front fender, passenger door, wheel, steering/suspension for front passenger, all oil was leaked...and there was a lot more in the estimate :( ) My Dad told the ins company he did not want it back as I am sure it would never be the same, so he washed his hands with it...you SHOULD be able to get a low miles E55 for $40K...which is a deal considering it was over $80K new!!!

I have driven two.. a 2003 and a 2005 - and the power is UNREAL. It is so unexpected to be driving a very luxurious 4 door sedan that can smoke C5 Vettes and hold their own against C6's in stock form. Get some mods going and it is a low 11 second car! I think the record for the E55 is 10.6x in the 1/4.

I have found low mile 2004 CPO cars in the low to mid $30K's.... by low mile I mean around 40K miles for a 5 year old car.

E55 - 469 HP/516 TQ (5.4L supercharged)
E63 - 507 HP/465 TQ (6.2L NA)

Many say that the E55 was underrated from the factory, and that they produced closer to the 493 HP that the SL and CL 55's were rated at.

The E55 can get 23+ highway mpg if you are good! In the E63, you are LUCKY to get 17 on the highway, and prolly 10 around town!!! And like you said, more Torque and the SC whine is audible bliss!

Could you fix it, sure. Would it roll again, sure. Would it be the same, didn't want to find out. There are prolly $10-20K in parts that were fine, so obivously it wasn't totalled...but my Dad did not want it back, plain and simple. And by the way she was going at lease 45mph when she hit my dad, and he did not have any injuries.

MB are definitely very safe cars!! My Uncle rearended a city bus (the behemoths) at a bus stop (so it was stopped/stopping). He must have been going at a good clip because there was no front end left of his GL (the SUV) afterwards; but he survived.

And I think I would have got another E55 :D instead of the 550 but both are very nice rides!

Thanks guys...yeah my dad said the windows rolled up b4 impact as they were down before he got hit and up in the pics as you can see...pretty crazy! I will post some more pics of the 550i tonight as they were in town for my bday...

I wanted him to get an E55 but after having one he decided to not buy a used AMG car that would be out of warranty and potentially abused. He wanted a middle-of-the-road performer that was comfortable and got fairly good gas mileage. On his way to Santa Barbara he got 26.5mpg...not bad for a good-sized v8

Here is a pic of the Jeep and the 550i...quite pleased with the BMW...its no E55 but it is very nice

If you look at the windshield you can tell it is slightly tinted...my Dad had a pretty custom job done ( rear privacy glass matched rear window, 4 main windows match, windshield tinted top to bottom :) )

You tinted it all the way and added another 5%? Whats a good % to suggest, to make it dark but not too obvious .. 50% with a 5 banner? Sick 5 series btw

My entire windshield had 50% tint on it; then to make it less noticeable, I added a 5% banner over the top. Really clean looking and I love it at night, too!! (cuts down on headlight glare even and without critically subjecting my overall night vision)

S4 Cabro, huh? I am a HUGE Audi fan, and the S-line is by far my fave. I REALLY want an 04^ S4 V8 sedan. I am slobbering over a black 04 on a-t.com with 33k miles for less than $16K. I have no idea if that is a good deal or not.

You qutoed my description of the vantage...the s4 is an auto 4wd and is an absolute treat to drive.

Well considering that car was $50k plus new, it is a great deal! If you can get an 04 with only 7k miles a year and if the pant is in good shape with proven service history you cannot go wrong with that setup!!! My mom still has hers. 45k miles and that thing runs like a champ! Send me a link if you want me to check it out. I am pretty versed in new and used car pricing :)

well took the x5 on a 500 mile road-trip...got 28 mpg when going b/t 68-75 and around 23.5 mpg when going 80+! that 8 speed really improves the efficiency! I am looking forward to the WK2 getting that

I was pretty impressed Nate...thing will kick down 3 gears if you floor it going 70! Still doesn't have the same power as my Jeep, but fit/finish/cumfy-ness is off the charts. I used to HATE X5's...not anymore

I like it too...just found out the purchase was NOT made as he is trying to test the PDK and 6-speed to see which one he wants. Total fake-out by my Mom. He kept the car overnight and is at the dealer now driving the 6-sped! After talking with him today, we SHOULD have a new porsche by the end of the month :)

yea, we ordered a set of LED lights and attempted to switch them out. What i love was the rear passenger footwell lights, Im thinking of doing something like that to the jeep. We couldnt figure out how to do the front and back rear lights and I didnt want to start prying anything in a 60k vehicle lol. Ill get pics next time.

update...Mini just sold yesterday...and he put a intake, new tips and spacers (legit ones, not eBay haha) on the Porsche!! Pics and video to follow this weekend...getting ready to head home and drive the Carrera S and 550...I'm over the X5 compared to the Jeep and other german rides haha
