Well before my Wk i spent the years from 16 to 23 wheeling multiple different Xjs.
I had my first jeep that was a 1987 Xj pioneer, stock, dads old jeep. Sold
I had my 1994 Cherokee Country, all the options, did a Rubiconexpress 3.5" lift and 31" tires.
Then i had my 1995 Xj sport, 4" frankenlift 32's snorkel etc.
Finally 3 years ago i bought my 1998 Xj sport 2 door.
I did a Rubicon express 5.5 short arm lift (shoulda dont the long arms, mine had drop brackets) 35" Cooper Sidcoverer STT tires, Rubicon Moab wheels(eventually painted black), ARB front bumper, Detoursusa.com rear bumper and tire carrier. Slip yoke eliminator, CV drive shafts, 4:56 yukon gears front and rear, Rear Detroit Locker, D 44 rear, Tera flex rear disc brake conversion, ZJ Prop valve, Edlebrock remote resi front shocks, bilstein 5125 rears. U bolt style yokes, D 30 front, matching lime green Riddler mfg Differential covers, Custom 1 ton settiner, 1.5" tube 1 ton ends. Yj steering box, Flow Cooler H20 pump, HD Tripple core radiator, On board air compressor, custom storage/sub box, Surco Roof basket, Custom air intake, Home made rock sliders, gas tank skid, t case skid, WJ Leather seats (custom made to fold for rear pass access) Alpine headunit, Kicker 750 watt amp, Kicker CVR 12, Custom side exhaust in rear 1/4 etc. Bushwacker flares, Custom tail lights and clear corners/signals. I also stripped all the silver detailing off it, changed it out for gold and re badged it an Orvis Edition because i love Fly Fishing. DOORLESS MOD. I did all the work minus installing the gears.
Blood Sweat and tears went in to this jeep, Literally. BTW this was a ROCk RIG not a mudder!
Pic Whoring away
Stock day 1 I paid a whopping $2500 bucks for it stock.

Thanks, scott, its deff an acquired taste but i am at the point now where its not logical to go any more. Between constantly having to fix things, and always wanting to go bigger and better. At least with the Wk i can mod it on a better budget, and i dont have to upgrade the entire thing because i am not runnign huge 35" tires that will destroy everything that jeep put in it stock. it came to be real tiresome having to make everything stronger all the time and plating the unibody was next on my list, i had all the parts but no welder and no $$ to pay big bucks to have the frame plating welded on.
As much as i miss my old jeep and watching my wheeling vids i am happier now.
WOW, that is one sick XJ you had, I love it!! Very tastefully done! I don't blame you for shedding a few tears upon its departure.

Thanks, I wheeled it respectfully, i never beat it and it treated me well on the trail, thank got it only seemed to break when i was home. the main problem is that i just constantly needed everything beefed up and it was getting to be too much for someone w/o the means to do so.
If i did another i would do 3.5" lift and 33s and call it a day.

Thanks, That was my issue too, most of those pictures are taken over 6 hours (1 way) away from home. I got tired of having to drive so far for good wheeling.

Real nice XJs. I've had two a '86 Chief and my daughter's '98 sport. I always wanted to build one up like you did. Never found the time.
Those were too good to continue building!
