my XJ: new cat/ O2/ muffler

been rattling on startup. i "guessed" it was the muffler and borla sent me a free one under the 'million mile warranty'. i guessed wrong. it was the cat. i bought a magnaflow direct replacement cat, bosch o2. getting it all installed today as i need an emissions test end of month. they will not give a drive by test twice in a row.

i passed the test the same day. I left that muffler place and had no CEL, actually never did, so i drove right to the emmisions place. I almost had to go another day as the freaking place is cash or check, no cards. but i remembered the emergency hundo in the back of the wallet :lol: so i passed with flying colors.

i asked the guy about the van. said i thought I did the required 2 times in last 6 months on the mobile reader. thats how I got tested last time. i thought maybe you could only do a mobile test one time, then next test had to be at the place.



anyway, you are lucky if you have no testing. they have it here for the pollution. can get bad here in the winter. and they used lots of sand and gravel in the winter.....that turns to dust and particles in the sky. and causes the poluttion. we get some weird inversion with the mountains so the 'brown cloud' covers denver lots of winter days.
