If you want to play you got to pay! My 07' WK Limited has auto lights that come on when they need to, dim when necessary and slowly increase in intensity when switched back to high beams. Not sure if that's just on the grands with oem hids or not but if you are willing to pay for it, the feature has been available for some time.

Re: Pre-chat engineer question thread-please read

I dont know if i can be available for the chat so i will ask just in case.

If the Diesel CRD will not be an option in the future because of lack of sales or similar reasons then Why was it only offered in the US in the most expensive $50k plus Overland model? Why not offer the US a Base Laredo with the CRD. I am sure that alot of buyers were scared away from the CRD because it was only offered in the most expensive models. I understand its about a $7k add on to make it a crd in the US but if you added that to a laredo model, its a much lower total cost then an overland or limited and more would have probably considered to buy it.

+1. I want more diesels in America. They are proven to be more fuel efficient. More so in these heavy SUV's.

Re: Pre-chat engineer question thread-please read

I'll be at work as well, but my question is how come the new Durango with V6 can tow more than the GC with V6?

Re: Pre-chat engineer question thread-please read

I doubt I'll make the chat, so here's my question:

It appears that many of us who ordered Overlands have seen them built, only to see them languish in quality control inspections (sometimes for weeks). Was something found that needed correction, and if so, what was it?

Re: Pre-chat engineer question thread-please read

1. When can we expect the WKII to be released in Australia?

2. Is it expected to differ much technically to the domestic market WKII (electrical system, spring and shock tune, engine tune etc)?

3. When developing new vehicles, is any testing done outside of the US? ie, hot weather high speed testing in South Africa, or extreme cold testing in Arjeplog, Sweden?

4. Are the US manufactured Jeeps on par or exceeding the build and paint quality of the previous versions built in Graz, Austria?

I probably won't be able to attend the Jeep Garage Chat Session, 9/8/10. So, here's my question:

Question XX - 2011 Quadra-Drive II

The 2011 Quadra-Drive II system is advertized on Jeep.com as having an ELSD on both the rear and front axles. Also, the 2011 dealer on-line parts manual lists a part# (68060207AA) for a 2011 front ELSD. Yet, current dealer documents and other on-line sources show only a rear ELSD for the 2011 Quadra-Drive II system. No front differential of any kind is mentioned.
  1. Is information about the front axle “suppressed” because of an impending configuration change?

  2. What front differential is currently being delivered with the 2011 Quadra-Drive II system? Will that be permanent for the 2011 model year?

  3. Is the 2011 rear ELSD different from the 2010 unit? If so, what type is it (magnetic, hydraulic or pneumatic), and who makes it?

  4. Is there any configuration change planned for the 2011 Quadra-Drive II system?

Will questions and related answers be numbered and published in a thread after the chat? Thanks.
