Re: '14 Fogging Headlights

($6k in parts for the pair)

Sounds like another recall issue down the road.

Re: '14 Fogging Headlights

I don't care what anyone says this is not normal. These vehicles cost too much for this to be happening; and on top of it the guy gets a ticket!!!
Does it say this is normal in the owners manual?

Re: '14 Fogging Headlights

People only say its normal to make themselves feel better about it.
If its so normal take a look around today and see how many other cars have it.

You know, I got another 'new owner' survey last night, appropriately...

One question is "Have you had any issues with the new vehicle?"

CLICK, 'YES'

"How many issues"

SCROLL...... SCROLL MORE, '27'

Dude, 27 issues with a vehicle(with a $55k sticker price, no less) I purchased the first week of August, and more than half remains unresolved.

Before anyone says it, yes, Chrysler offered a buyback. The problem there is, I was told it would be a straight up buyback and I could go purchase whatever I want... Instead, it's a Chrysler-for-Chrysler swap, which I was OK with until I was told I will be penalized (heavily) on my mileage, and I won't be able to get the special financing I got on this lemon. So... Pay MORE... for a vehicle... with less options? Yeah, no.

In light of their audacity to charge me almost $4k for my mileage, I've rejected their offer and chosen to keep my lemon, spending the next few years driving nothing but rentals like I do now, milking Chrysler on the warranty, THEN on my Lifetime MaxCare.

I also had some amusing bumper stickers made which I plan on affixing once I get my '14 WK2 back... Whenever that is. I figure some good advertising is due considering the amount of attention my vehicle draws.

I enjoyed the fistfight that ensued at my dealership a couple weeks back when a guy who had his brand new Overland in for service on its gremlins found out the dealership 'bricked' his radio, rendering his whole dashboard useless. He proceeded to grab the service manager's cell phone, scrolling thru his contacts trying to find his Chrysler 'insider' phone numbers. Police were called- there are far more problematic vehicles we're talking about that the mere number of folks we see here on the forums.

The fog should go away soon after the light comes on, they're pretty hot.

Re: '14 Fogging Headlights

I have to say this discussion has helped reaffirm my faith in my dealer. When I took delivery in April I noticed the fog in my headlights, and my salesman explained it exactly as put forth here and in the TSB. Haven't had the problem since.

Re: '14 Fogging Headlights

The pictures in the TSB give a great example of whats "normal" vs. whats obviously not. Should help people that are concerned tell immediately if they have an issue.
