'14 GC, perform recalls or not?

I have an earlyish '14 Overland, V8, ORAII.

It hasn't had any recalls performed. I don't live in an area prone to salt corrosion and I don't have any issues.

I've read a lot of issues here where servicing the potential issues cause actual issues.

Any thoughts if I should do some or all of the recalls, and your thoughts on why.

Thanks!

-john

I have an early 2014 and have had all 4 recalls completed. a little sloppiness with the brake booster one but all is well now. if you are keeping it I would get em done they are recalls for a reason.

Re: '14 GC, perform recalls or not?

FCA told me that recalls apply by specific VIN, and not just the make and model year. So according to them, if we don't have a problem, and our VIN is not on a recall list, then we don't get'em done.

Thoughts?

That is correct. You will get the recall letter if your VIN is included. No letter, no worries.

Wanna know right now for sure, input your VIN here:

Yes they are by vin, if they apply to your vin you should have them completed. If they do not apply to your vin then you do not have the issue and they will not do them.

Re: '14 GC, perform recalls or not?

just found this

Not trying to be an alarmest but to those like me who have had this recall done, looks like another recall coming...hmmm

Those that avoided it because you were worried that the fix was worse than problem....well, you own the day!

You say you aren't trying to be an alarmist, (which really means you are), yet you must have posted this same message at least 6 times in different posts.

What is that all about???

There was not one thread to pick as the main one on the topic. Given the many "dont touch my headliner" holdouts of which I was one until the dealer pulled a "your Vin is on list" and did it by surprise I felt it best to note it in the ones I found. Thought it kinda funny as my comment made clear.

Kinda thought posting as a new thread would actually be the di@k move.

Gonna blame me because nobody else searches before starting a new thread? Heck, Scott even posted about the problem.

Sorry to have alarmed you.
