17 WK2 cruise control question

In every vehicle I've owned that had cruise would let you turn it on or off, most on the steering wheel. But once it was on it stayed on whether you turned the car on or off.

On our new summit we have to turn it on every time we start the jeep if we want to set the cruise.

Is this correct or should it stay on when I start the jeep?

It not an issue because I rarely use cruise in my wife's jeep, but when I do it's on the interstate. And then I go to set the cruise and nothing happens, so I have to take my eyes off the road and find where the button on the steering wheel is.

So, is this standard or some safety feature because of the adaptive cruise?

I had a 2014 with ACC and now have 2015 with ACC. In my experience that is the normal
behavior.

Re: 17 WK2 cruise control question

Most of my recent vehicles, including Jeeps, I had to turn the cc on every time I started the car. GM used to have a slide switch on the stalk that stayed on.

Re: 17 WK2 cruise control question

Thanks for the replies, our 13 Cadillac SRX /2009 gmc 3500 DRW and 2005 Jetta all have the button on the steering wheel. But when its on it stays on until you turn it off, even my Harley has a button that is either on or off. Guess I'll just have to turn it on when I need it.

Just wanted to be sure this was normal and not a warranty issue. I've only had wranglers and my wife's last Laredo GC didn't have any options so were still learning.
