2 Problems - Washer Fluid, Check engine light high revs

Ok - so over the last few weeks I've had 2 problems.

1 is that the front windshield washer jets are no longer working. The rears are fine. If it was just 1 jet, i'd say it was clogged. If it was all (including rear), i would say its the tank line. Any ideas where to begin?

Issue 2 is that check engine light came on a few weeks back and the Jeep wouldn't downshift, can't use cruise control, multi-valve ECO does engage and the remote start wont work. Had them grab the codes (which I dont have right now because I'm traveling), but they were related to the drive shaft and crankshaft timings not being in sync. Few days later the light went off and no more issues. Issue came back this weekend on a 200 mile round trip and isn't correcting itself. The one thing I notice at highway speeds is that overdrive gear never kicks in, so it revs really high, terrible gas mileage. Any idea where to begin here?

My gut tells me that all cars implode at 100k and at 110k, I should get these things fixed at the dealer and start test driving something new. Talk me off this expensive cliff.

Well maintained cars with reasonable service and not overly excessive abuse go well over 200K these days--unless there are flaws that came with them when new that just take a while to show up.

I'd ask how much it will cost to fix #2

As for #1, the rear uses a separate pump, so I'd start with listening for the pump with the hood open and a helper.

I wonder if you just have a very loose ground--which was part of a tsb fix way back when.

Yes the washers break all the time very brittle plastic will need to look behind the hood mat to see the nozzles

The CE light was throwing codes for drive and crank shaft sync issues. Turns out they were not bad sensors, but actually a sync issue. Long story short, replacing the exhaust manifold, timing chain, some sprocket, some belt, yada yada, $2700 repair. Said it was a mess. Plus I need new tires on top of that. I asked the sales team to put together a deal. They wanted to give me 11.5 trade (has 108k miles) and then the 2017 trailhawk with hemi and both packages for 47.5. Thats about 5k off sticker, which I thought was a good deal. But I decided to just get it fixed. I really want the trailhawk, but Im intrigued by the Wagoneer.

What would you guys do? I hate to dump close to 4k into it and still have a car with 108k miles that I use to tow my boat.

The answer depends on you. That is a LOT of repairs for such a low mileage vehicle. After the repairs, the vehicle might be just as good as new, or it may be similar to Hogans Goat because the repairs result in injecting mistakes that lead to other repairs.
SOME dealers have pretty good engine rebuild techs, but many don't.

The real question is what is your tolerance. I'd expect a minor issue or two after the repair, but have you lost confidence in this vehicle, or are you at the "one more damn thing and it gets junked" threshold yet?

Granted it is a crap shoot moving to a newer vehicle but I'd expect a better warranty position if there is. Plus you might want to consider the extended service plans from that dealer or the folks in Chicago.

Personally, I'd try to get a slightly better price and then take Old Yeller out behind the barn...
