Re: 2011 5.7 smoking engine

If it is thought to be condensation in the exhaust burning off then I wonder if anyone who has an aftermarkt exhaust {Corsa, Magnaflow, or Borla} suffers from this same problem at ignition.

Mine does the exact same thing, seems it does not like being parked on a reverse incline. Only 500 miles on it now (hemi - 2011). Keeping an eye on it, and on this thread to see what develops.

Re: 2011 5.7 smoking engine

Has anyone heard about the AOS ( air and oil separator ). In some cars it is plastic and it is located between the engine and the throttle body.

Maybe if that part fails it is letting the oil into the combustion chamber!?!?

What do you think?

My dealer knows nothing about the problem...

Re: 2011 5.7 smoking engine

I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7L engine and it is smoking as well at startup. They claim that this is water vapor. I have several videos of this and it is grey and blue in nature. I know water vapor and this is not it. Yesterday when I video taped it the humidity in our town was at 11%. Did they ever give you a reason or fix the issue?

This is a really old thread. Try the "Major Smoke Out of Exhaust" thread for more current info. Sorry, don't know how to include link when using Tapatalk app to post this.
