2011 Air suspension issue

I was making a turn driving down the road and the whole vehicle started vibrating and making a very loud compressor-type noise. Shortly after that the EVIC said "Air suspension service or repair required". I'd seen this once before, and the local dealer said the nitrogen was low but they couldn't find a leak or any other trouble. So I took it in again.

They said it was a leak in the air compressor and it needed to be replaced. There goes $2500. They replace it and I get it back. 2 minutes from my house I'm at a stoplight and again the vibration and loud sound happens. I get home and attempt to use the OR1/OR2 modes, and it won't go into OR2. It complains about the system being too hot and cooling required. I tried again two days later to go from OR1 to OR2 and it still wouldn't do it.

Took it back to the dealer reporting all of this, and it took them like 3-4 weeks to diagnose the issue. They're now saying that the compressor was running all the time before, because there was a leak, and that burned out the Air Suspension Control Module.

Does that even make sense? How does a non-mechanical computer-based part burn out from a technically separate system being active?

Hi Alric,

Would you PM your VIN so I can look a bit further into this issue for you?

Re: 2011 Air suspension issue

INSIST ON THEM TELLING YOU THE PART ID NUMBER OF THE COMPRESSION THEY INSTALLED. I went though this back in February but used an independent mechanic. Only because he did so much research did we find out that the part he received was the 2nd generation pump which has a design flaw and can't cycle the full range the suspension requires. There is a 3rd generation pump that you must make sure you get. Don't trust the STEALERS!

Re: 2011 Air suspension issue

Fast forward: I authorized the replacement of the ASCM, and they did so. They claim it works now, but it throw a code whenever they activate the air suspension. They contacted an area Master Technician who was supposed to come on Wednesday, but he still hasn't showed up.

Today I called in and discovered that they have "removed the entire interior of the Jeep to trace out the issue".

That was absolutely terrifying to hear.

I also did contact Kori as requested, but haven't heard anything back.

I've also responded to one of their offers of help and never heard back. I think it's an advertising gimmick.

When working on my quadralift dealer put on 3 miles and let the truck idol for a total of 11 hours.
Write down your hours and the miles before taking it to the dealership. Just to get an idea of how long it sat and idled or how far they drove it. Then get your owners manual out and read about how good idling is for your motor. After all it's not their vehicle.

Where are you located? I'm very skeptical about many dealer's competence with the air suspension.

I know your not asking me but
LINCOLN, NE. And every thing this dealership knows about quadra lift was learned working on my jeep. Lol. I really think it's true though.

Re: 2011 Air suspension issue

I'm in Cleburne TX.

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks that the dealer has been waiting on a Master Tech from Chrysler to come look at the issue.

Edit: Kori the Jeep Social Care Specialist did get back to me.
