2011 GC - Blind Spot Monitor too sensitive

Hi There,

I have come across a couple of threads where people mention that their blind spot monitor is too sensitive. My 2011 GC Limited has been having this problem for the since winter time.

The symptom is that the sensor chimes to warn when it is triggered by snow banks on the other side of the road, going past a hydro pole, vehicles several lanes over. The system worked well until ~ Feb, 2015.

I had the dealership look at it and they said replace the sensor for $1,900 (CAD).

Some of the other threads mentioned a TSB. I found the TSB on wk2jeeps. Number 08-063-13. http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0806313.pdf

After reading the TSB, it is listed for 2014 models only. Does anyone know if it is likely that the TSB would apply for a 2011, as well? Obviously there have been some changes for the 2014 model year, but would the model year on the TSB simply be an oversight?

Thank you for any insight.

just wondering if you ever got this fixed? I'm having similar problems on my 2015 limited. Been back twice and they can't figure it out.

I have not been able to figure out the problem.

Any suggestions from others would be much appreciated.

I ended up taking it back again and after showing them the issue in person, the tech immediately realized one of the sensors in the bumper was misaligned. working 100% now.
