Re: 2011 GC blown tranny?

My 2002 Overland had issues at 500 miles. My transmission issue was simple, the pin that keeps the shifter linkage connected to the transmission wasn't installed.

Re: 2011 GC blown tranny?

Not directly relevant in this instance, but when our 1994's transmission died at 70,200 miles, we had a 70k extended factory warranty. The dealer told us to pound sand because the mileage was 200 over. So I called Jeep HQ and the lady there conference-called the dealer and reamed them out. I got a free replacement, and perhaps coincidence but three months or so later the dealer (in Doylestown PA) folded.

Yet another reason to fork out for the extended warranty with the WK2 unless you change vehicles every couple of years, or lease.

Agreed! Just goes to show that even with dealers being reduced, they need to offer good customer service otherwise they fold. Especially since service and parts is where they make the majority of their profit, since the margins on vehicles are pretty small.

Re: 2011 GC blown tranny?

Just got my Jeep back, it was the transmission filter. It was faulty and it came came loose resulting in no pressure. The dealer said Chrysler was notied of the defect. Close call...

Re: 2011 GC blown tranny?

Good that it was a simple fix. Did they happen to mention how it may have loosened itself?

YES! If you are buying the car, just pay the extra money for the extended warranty.

Re: 2011 GC blown tranny?

wow, glad all is well but sounds fishy... First they said it was a major thing then all of a sudden oh it was just a loose filter. HMMMM..... I'd turn it back in and get a new one after your term is up. if not, i'd get that extended warranty as stated above... 2800 miles and tranny problems... not sounding all that good, imo!

PS- welcome to the FAMOUS GARAGE!
