2011 GC Overland - Driveline Vibration

I have a 2011 Overland 5.7L with 20" wheels with 13K miles with an unresolved vibration problem.
After about 4 trips dealer they cant solve vibration problem, first replaced front drive shaft - no luck, then said it was tires, I replaced the 20" Forteras with Yokohama 20s, ride is much better, but vibration (shuddering between 70 and 85 mph) is still there. I noticed a wobble from the vibration damper of the rear shaft (where it joins the rear diff) while on a lift with the wheels turning.

Any help with this will be great !

Re: 2011 GC Overland - Driveline Vibration

What about rear drive shaft? Doesn't look like the "U" joints are sold separately. Or loose mounting bolts somewhere.

Tires is a cop out many dealers use when they don't want to fix an issue. If not tires then a bent wheel. I had the service writer claim, insist that my U joint issue was tires. I took one of the more competent techs out for a ride, he though perhaps it was the diff. When I picked the truck up the next day they replaced the $5 U joint and all was well.

On the other hand, plenty of vibration issues are actually tires.

Definitely not disk - vibration 70-85 mph does not change if brakes are applied or if I coast in neutral

Coldcase:
changing tires did make some difference but not much. the odd thing is that sometimes there is no vibration in the same speed range on the same stretch of road

Both my GYs and Blizzacks have a tendency to vibrate when set to the lower end of the tire pressure range (under 36 psi for the GYs). Have you tried temporarily putting like 40 psi cold into the tires and see how it goes?

Re: 2011 GC Overland - Driveline Vibration

I'll try 40 psi and see what happens. I've been running 34 psi cold, 36 psi warm
