Good morning all.
I wonder if I am the only one having an assortment of problems with the GC.
So far to date - replaced parts (at dealership - under warranty):
A damper door on the heater/AC duct work - damper door had to be replaced as it was stripped. Only one side had temp. control. Other side - full force of mother nature's temperatures.
Radio module went - could not give voice commands to radio or phone. (phone wouldn't work through radio).
Brake booster developed a leak and at the same time the heater fan started to squeal. (both replaced as defective).
On the way home from Booster/fan motor replacement the cruise control failed to operate. (HA!, didn't even make it back home before the next part broke)Back to dealer - faulty brake switch. Car now sitting at dealer waiting for switch to arrive.
Thank the good Lord for extended warranties. I should note, the dealer has been good about the whole thing. Gave me a loaner each time. but it is still a pain in the ... to constantly have to drive 40 minutes to the dealer(each way), leave the GC, and drive back an pick up. Waste of time and gas.
Wife was thinking about buying the "new" small Cherokee, but now is having very serious second thoughts. GC only has about 48,000 miles on it. Bought in 2011.
My opinion. Chrysler group. You seriously need to reevaluate your parts sourcing. Build quality is OK but parts quality ---- really, really sucks.
I should also note all problems are within the last year.
