Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

Point taken. But depending on how Chrysler handles this, it might be better for anyone who is unfortunate enough to experience this in the future, to just get out of the car & let it burn to the ground!

Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

Most likely scenario is Chrysler will want the Jeep back. You will probably get a new one.Obviously I can't speak for them, but I saw a similar situation with a brand new truck that had a small inferno. Was easily fixed, but the owner was given a new truck,no questions asked. They actually went way out of their way to get it for him because it was an oddball combination that he had ordered and they had to ship it from another dealer from the middle of nowhere. They gave him a rental car while it was being worked out.
I hope that it works out easily for you,I think it will.

Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

A recall is way too premature at this point. It probably will be a non-issue in the end. Perhaps there was a short caused during assembly.

I'm more concerned with why a fuse didn't protect the wiring more than how the short happened. Not good!

best point/comment i had read yet. i would bet they will give you a new one, as long as you keep the issue out of the news papers. no one likes to help an ass who is going to cause problems

Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

Again...don't disparage Jeep publicly and make a reasonable demand (new vehicle with extended warranty)...problem solved. That's how this stuff works...trust me I've dealt with situations like this and with very large insurance companies too....someone will have to make a calculated $$$ decision so why not make it easy for them to simply say yes and have you avoid hassles and frustrations.

Unhappy Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

After hearing this, I normally keep my 11 WK in the garage. I think until I hear more on this issue, I think my wifes Liberty will be parked in the gargage. My Jeep can stay outside.

I think that is a smart idea!
No one has mentioned on here about the other WK2 that was burning on the side of the road, I think it is worth mentioning at this time.

Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

Definitely looks like more than just a mere coincidence.

Re: 2011 Jeep FIre ONE MONTH OLD !

Damn...previous posts from October within that thread even speculate that it was the headliner...

Massive recall anyone? I think so!
