Re: 2011 Jeep GC driver A/C problem
Yep... lukewarm sounds just right. The blend doors have rotated due to no resistance, weight, and gravity to a perfect "middle" position. Yay!
I doubt CPO will cover it. Call a service advisor and specifically tell them you know what the problem is and wondering if it's covered. Don't accept a "we got to diagnose and see" answer. They can enter this problem into their system and specifically tell you... at least a helpful service advisor can. That will save you a $100 diagnostic fee that you can put to much better use for this if it's not covered.
I was quoted anywhere from $65 to $125 from independents to do the labor if I supplied parts. I just decided one afternoon when I had a few hours to spare that I'd do it myself. It wasn't that hard at all.
Most Jeep dealers will want to replace the entire air box since it comes with all new actuators and gears already installed. That's a $1200 repair and they will tear the dash out all the way to the firewall. Definitely NOT for me. Nobody is going to do that to my "baby".
Let me know if you have any other questions!
