I bought a 2011 laredo E with ORA1 for $6k off sticker today.

and i can not get the rear hatch label off? like it's sun etched on to it that sticker has cracks in it which indicates me that my wk2 was sitting for a while.

What can i use to get it off? I DO NOT want to tear the plastic underneath it?

i have 53 miles on it so far

HUGE improvement from my WJ.

Sounds like a killer deal by the way...

I would use the service department from the salesman that sold it to you. i hope its a dealer. Not being an @$$ but if you mess it up you own it, if they mess it up they replace it. If under warranty, no visit to the dealer is stupid. Make them earn their money, and take care of the customer

I had a headliner issue regarding one screw loose under the headliner. I made the dealer replace the whole damn thing due to possible dirty finger prints and possible creases during removal. It required factory permission to replace it, dealer was not too happy. My comment was... well, I can always return the vehicle?

I had to "moderately" use a heat gun to remove said label. After a few seconds of direct heat, it came right off leaving nothing behind.

Same goes for those annoying labels on the sun visor.

Thanks for the tip on the sun visor!
Same subject, different car. I never have bought a car with a sticker on it...I tell the sales people before they do the deal... one dealer said they could not remove the label...corporate policy...I went to another dealer.
On an 86 Tbird, they knew and aggred to no sticker... they had there kid remove the sticker and he put a big scratch in it. I told the dealer get another car..he said no, that he would paint that one... i went to another dealer.

Are you talking about the caution labels on the visors?

The stickers that have been on for a while are hard to get off. I took mine off at the dealership the day I picked it up and it peeled off very easily. The vehicle had just been built a few weeks earlier. If you are picking up a new GC that has been on the lot, try to peel the sticker off while you are still at the dealer. If it won't come off, have them remove it before you drive away. Some members here have scratched the trim while trying to remove the sticker.

Fingernail and windex (or 'other' lubricant) - what a PITA it was to take off. Could have bitched at the dealer to do it, but they would have had some 17yr old do it and scratch the hell out of it.

You can remove sticky residue from surfaces with tape. Take a piece of tape and dab at the residue with it. Just keep dabbing at it, over and over. A twisting motion helps sometimes.

Of course, this isn't very effective when done with with painter's tape. I always try this before resorting to a solvent like Goo Gone, WD-40, alcohol or acetone.

Oh, and when ordering a car from a dealership, I always explicitly tell them to not affix any dealership stickers or badges to the car, too.
