2011 V8 - Camshaft Problem

Hi all,

My 2011 hemi has a camshaft problem at 50,000 miles. There was a ticking sound, then a check engine light indicating a misfire in cylinder 3. Brought it to the dealership and the tick had turned to a rap. The camshaft lobe was worn down. The dealer called in Chrysler to take a look and they are replacing the camshaft and cleaning out the engine. There were metal flakes in the oil. This is covered under the limited power train warranty.

Just thought you'd like to know.

I would insist on a new engine. Metal flakes in the oil arent good. You dont know what damage they did to the crankshaft bearings and the rest of the engine.
