Greetings All,
Recently purchased a 2012 JGC 3.6L and have discovered a tranny issue that has me concerned.
In first gear under load my transmission is spiking and not kicking down until 2800 to 3000 rpm.
Sometimes under the same pedal depression it does kick down within the acceptable 2000 rpm.
This is my fourth Cherokee and all my past vehicles always kick down within 2000 rpm.
I have a very sensitive foot and let the power curve of the vehicle dictate acceleration so it is not like I am hammering the gas pedal.
I worry this rpm spike is going to add up to premature wear on the engine.
Am I looking at a problem here or are these spikes harmless.
I notice to date there is only a TSB for the 2011 (18-012-11A)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
