2012 Limited DRL bulbs keep burning out

Hello all,
Anyone else having DRL bulbs burning out every couple of months? My sockets look brownish/discolored as well. These are the stock bulbs and I am getting annoyed that I have to keep replacing them. I already brought it up at the dealer which of course they say nothing is wrong. I see some people put LED's in their DRLs. Is this my option to not have to deal with burnt out bulbs every couple of months? Or will I run into problems with those as well?
Thanks,
Jon

My sockets with look the same and my dealer told me the same, that's normal. Are you touching the bulbs with your fingers during installation?

Try my best not to but it's next to impossible to install them on the drivers side... Dealer installed these last bulbs

Both burned out in first year. Dealer replaced them and they are still going strong after almost 3 more years.

Switch to LEDs, they last a long time. I recommend the putco plasmas, they are bright.

There is a known issue with the 2011-2013 DRLs.

They generate too much heat, causing damage to the socket, and burn out often.

This is why the design was changed for the 2014+ models.

A known issue they won't fix for me under warranty? So I'm screwed with a two year old vehicle with this issue that they fixed for 14' and up? I will gladly take a 14' and up headlight swap to fix my issue if jeep will pay for it and they fit 😁

Do a search on this forum for Burnt DRLs and you should find several threads. Hopefully there will be enough information in them to help you convince your dealer to do the right thing & fix your vehicle.
