2012 vs 2015 GC Overland

Just traded in the 2012 overland 5.7 for a 2015 5.7 overland i have to say after driving the 15 for the first 50 miles the 15 seems much (cheaper) made and not as high end as the 2012 was and I'm not impressed Liked it on the short test drive but you really don't get a feel for it until spend a few with it.

Seats feel like cheaper leather
steering wheel leather my wife thought was foam...WTf
wood trim not as nice as 2012

Also i only have 55 miles on it and its back to the dealer for 3 issues

1. Drivers window scrapes sluggish to go up or won't go up with out multi attempts.

2. Intermittent rattle vibration fron drivers side dash area

3. Rubber molding at bottom of windshield separation coming unglued

UGGG

Re: 2012 vs 2015 GC Overland

I traded my 2011 Overland (60k miles) for a 2014 summit a few months ago. After a day or so, I noticed the new model was much better in a few ways. The 8 speed tranny is night and day, the ride feels smoother with less road and shock/strut noise, and the U-connect nav system seems to be years ahead in technology all around. I would agree with the seat issue, my summit leather doesn't feel as genuine as my overland.

Interesting post. I too had a 2012 Overland and now in a 2014 Summit and I couldnt disagree more! There is a not a single thing that I think was better on my 2012.
As for the issues yours is having that's too bad especially for a new car. Hope the dealer can get those fixed.

Re: 2012 vs 2015 GC Overland

Well I also traded in a 2012 Overland for a 2015 Overland.

The difference between the 2 is Night and Day. And I mean that in a GOOD way!

My 2015 is much better then my 2012. It operates, handles, and performs better then my 2012. The fit & finish is also better. And I haven't encountered any issues or problems (other then a slight version of the transmission issue reported by many). By comparison, my 2012 had several issues requiring a trip back to the dealer to fix.

If yours is worse, then I'd talk to your dealer about the issues.
