2012 W2K V6 4x4 odd oil dripping

Hello all, new Jeep owner here with a very odd oil drip under the W2K. I have a 2012 W2K V6 Pentstar 4x4 with 1400 miles on it. Yesterday I noticed what looked to me like oil staining a buddy's driveway (never noticed it before - was never really looking!). The "oil" is dripping from the very middle of the underside of the jeep [above whatever that silver square things (part of the exhaust system) is in the very middle of the underside with 2 pipes coming in the front and 1 pipe going out to the muffler/tailpipe]. Now I realized that this is really the first time I have parked it on an incline - and it is dripping out from what looks to be the underside of the vehicle (painted area). It is crazy.
I took it to the dealer this morning and they said it is not engine oil, and it is not tranny oil, and they don't know what it is. Diagnosed it as some sort of sealant heating up and dripping down... i don't know about that. Anyone else had any issues like this? I would really appreciate it. I am moving from GA to RI and have only made it as far as SC, so many many more miles to go, and the service dept here in SC said I was good to go to drive on. All fluid levels were good and no lights or bells or whistles... attempting to add some photos - but you may have to go to my webpage if it will let you...

Thanks
cb

I guess it could be but the forward underbody is super clean only drips in the very middle of the vehicle from right above that square silver thing that is part of the exhaust sys, and as mentioned before it was happening when parked on an incline. I pulled it into the garage and let it sit all day (flat surface) and there are zero leaks on the ground. At the dealer/service dept this morning they lifted it up in the air and we walked all underneath - did a visual inspection of the whole underside and they were pretty baffled and explained it away.... And of course you can't check your own damn tranny fluid... im gonna go run it around town and then bring it back and park level again in the garage to see of there is any dripping again on the level surface. Thanks much

Re: 2012 W2K V6 4x4 odd oil dripping

If it is what I think it is that's not oil. Just condensation drippage which is stained brown from rust build up on the exhaust covers. If its infact from the middle of the car then that's normal and is nothing to worry about.
Now did you for sure confirm that its an oily residue, or are you just saying you saw it on the ground but didn't actually feel it?
The reason I know this is because I have a nice finished garage floor and I get these drips occasionally from the middle of the vehicle and its nothing more than rusty colored water. It wipes right up so its for sure not oil.
