Hello all, new Jeep owner here with a very odd oil drip under the W2K. I have a 2012 W2K V6 Pentstar 4x4 with 1400 miles on it. Yesterday I noticed what looked to me like oil staining a buddy's driveway (never noticed it before - was never really looking!). The "oil" is dripping from the very middle of the underside of the jeep [above whatever that silver square things (part of the exhaust system) is in the very middle of the underside with 2 pipes coming in the front and 1 pipe going out to the muffler/tailpipe]. Now I realized that this is really the first time I have parked it on an incline - and it is dripping out from what looks to be the underside of the vehicle (painted area). It is crazy.
I took it to the dealer this morning and they said it is not engine oil, and it is not tranny oil, and they don't know what it is. Diagnosed it as some sort of sealant heating up and dripping down... i don't know about that. Anyone else had any issues like this? I would really appreciate it. I am moving from GA to RI and have only made it as far as SC, so many many more miles to go, and the service dept here in SC said I was good to go to drive on. All fluid levels were good and no lights or bells or whistles... attempting to add some photos - but you may have to go to my webpage if it will let you...
