Then, as soon as I touched the driver's door, it shut completely off. (The fan speed didn't just slow down; it died, completely.)

So, it certainly seems like it's just a little programming/Uconnect glitch, causing the climate control to turn off when the car is restoring the driver's settings after passive entry (or, presumably, after a keyfob unlock request, too?). Not great ... but no big deal, since apparently we actually can still cool/heat the car with remote start, after all.
Seriously? I can't wait to test it. Im traveling this week, and I'll be back the Monday after next. Ill test it then. Mfa81 you could be my hero.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned. This is the way my GC works with the remote, and others have said the same thing. When I remote start it the air, or heat, or whatever I had it set for, goes on. If I open the passenger door it will keep running. If I open the driver's door it shuts off. So while the vehicle is running before I get to it, the climate control system is working. I think that the Uconnect system should let the climate control keep running even when the driver's door is opened. Hopefully a software update will rectify this glitch. I've had my Uconnect registered from day one. I'm not sure this is what is happening with everyone else, but this is my experience.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

As I said in my previous post, I registered the day I bought it a little over a month ago. I'm not having any problems except the phonebook not updating contacts I've added to my cell since original pairing, and I think that's a problem with my cheapo flip phone. Everything is working as advertised, except the remote start climate control issue I've mentioned. I've got around a thousand miles on the Jeep, and it's been a great experience. Several road trips, and the nav, audio, VR, phone, travel link, everything is performing very much to my liking. I'm sorry to hear about issues several here on the forum are having. In the luck of the draw, I came up Aces.

That's all I need. I don't text, if I need to communicate with someone I call them and get the conversation over with quickly. I don't walk around with my nose stuck in the screen of a smartphone playing games or watching videos. Hell, I hardly ever use the flip phone. I come from a different time, and it seems, also a different planet. I remember when you picked up a telephone and someone said "number please". Don't get me wrong, I love all the new tech out there, it's one of the reasons I bought my Jeep. And most of my friends and family have smartphones. I've got computers, flatscreen tv's, cable w/dvr's, e-readers, but if you look at my avatar, you'll see I spent most of my life playing with locomotives. I'm clumsy with anything smaller than a 26" pipe wrench in my hands. I tried a tablet computer and had to give it up, to small. I'm not knocking smartphones, they just don't work for me, and I find very little use for them.

It is confirmed. Remote start works, i opened the passenger side and AC is working, as soon as I open the driver side the AC shuts down. Thank god my vehicle worked after over 2 weeks of sitting at the airport. I heard some other folks on other threads having battery issues.
