Ah yes, I remember he works at a figment of my imagination. Sorry. You are way too good at using Wikipedia. I won't bother to report the results I get from talking to the engineers....oh wait, I mean the figments of my imagination.

Picked up my summit today and as its 107 outside I tried the auto starter. I've done it 3 times thus far and twice the ac was at the strength I left it and this was after sitting in the sun about 10-15 mins each time.

The 3rd time I noticed the air was off when I opened the door and within 4-5 seconds it turned back up to normal level before I even started the car.

Sounds like it is working as it is supposed to.... Can you tell us what version of UConnect software is in that unit?

Thanks!

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

It was fairly warm here yesterday so I decided to try the Remote Start and check whether or not I was having this issue. By the way I let the car run for a little over 5 minutes before I went out and checked on it.

Before I opened the door I looked into the window and it looked like the 'Auto' light was on. When I opened the door, the vents weren't blowing as strongly or as cool as I thought they would have been. Upon pressing the ignition button so that I could drive off the vents kicked in full blast and much cooler air started coming through them...

I never had to hit the auto button again though to turn on auto climate control though...it remained on.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

Forgetting about what was coming out of the vents, had the car cooled off?

It wasn't brutally hot when I got into it, but had it actually been blowing cooler air, as it did when I hit the ignition button, it probably could have been even more so cooled off.

Living in Minnesota, I'm more concerned with warming up the car in the winter versus cooling it off in the summer. I can deal with getting into a car that's been baking all day and rolling down the windows. Not really sure how much I'll actually use remote start in the summer to cool the car off, but my guess is significantly less than I'll use it in the winter to warm it up.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

For me, having the A/C work at the setting I left it is critical in remote start. The whole point for me to use remote start is to leave someone or my dog in the vehicle while I make a quick run into a store, etc.

Without the A/C fully working, this feature is USELESS to me.

Maybe I'm confused, but why wouldn't you just lock the car and leave it running if you're making a quick trip into a store versus turning it off and hitting remote start???

I'm sure your dog can deal with the beeping from the key missing and if another person stays in the car you can just leave the key with them.

Mainly because my dog doesn' know how to let me in the car

And the car will shut off after 45 seconds or so after the key is out of range.
