Hi, I have seen couple of posts with issues with AC not working with the remote start, but I could not see any solutions yet. has anybody has this issue fixed? Im having the same problem on my 2014 summit. Thank you.
Same here...if I just get in an start the car ... It remembers setting ... Which I usually just leave on auto....with remote start... I get in and the auto is off .... Kind I defeats the purpose of remote start...I am seeing dealer on Wednesday ...I'll post whatever tale they spin.
I noticed on mine if I remote start the ac compressor does kick in but the fan inside the car barely blows or doesn't blow at all. As soon as I get in the car. It starts blowing on auto setting, even before I hit the start button. Figured that was just the way it worked. Do others cars work differently?
In the mean time spray some Lysol in the air intake with the A/C on high and recirculate. A Ford dealer did that for me once on a new Explorer. Cleaned the stench right up and it never came back.
Hehehe ... just came home. Same observations. Used remote start and got into car ... guess what? Auto is disabled. Had to push Auto get the AC to move the air. Sux ... I hope this is just a bug but I'm subscribing to this thread, maybe somebody will find solution.
I think it's worse during the summer, at least during the winter the engine will be warm and as soon as the ac starts working you have hot air blowing! Now it does't really make any difference during the summer!
This is a problem on my 2012. There may have been a TSB on it, but I don't know. Heat works fine on remote start, but in the summer it just blew hot air until I hit the start button
This has been an issue with all WK2s. I tried bringing my 2013 in for the same complaint, techs said it couldn't be replicated and no issue found. I hope Jeep gets it together with this, because it was mildly infuriating for me over the summer.
Dealer has my GC2014 in for paint defect and molding issues. I asked them to look at the remote AC issue as well. Ill report back next week. I wonder if I bought too early.
As far as i understood from all the threads ive read it will only kick in if its blazing hot or wicked cold
It has a temperature threshold of smth like that .
Same, although I don't use the remote start that often. I've noticed lately the seat coolers have been coming on automatically set to low with normal start or maybe that's because I leave it on when I turn off the vehicle. I didn't have it on this morning since it was cooler out, so I'll see if it's on when I leave work today.
Some of these dealers really piss me off. So, i took my 2014 in for Nav activation and talked to them about the remote start issue (climate never is always off).
First, they didn't even want to see the example of it working without remote start and not working with remote start. Then after a couple of hours of them with the car, they come back with "thats just how it is". I was like wtf. Then, after some minutes of arguing, they stated, wait until it is really, really cold or really really hot. Then it should kick in. It was 27 degrees in chicago when i got my car, and the heater never came on. Funny cause the heated seats and steering wheel activated. This is definately a bug.
Ive only tried remote start a few times, but this is what I remember noticing and thinking it was weird.
The AC/Heat shuts down when I open the driver side door. When I walked out of work (sometime last week when it was cold) I tried remote starting the Jeep from just outside the office (was amazed that it worked from the distance).
I had my work bag with me so I open the passenger side door first to put the bag in the Jeep. I noticed the heat was on and roaring.
When I open the driver side door, the heat shut off.
When I started the Jeep, the heat was off, since I think thats how I left it in the morning.
Hasnt been cold or hot enough since to need to remote start to see if things come on. When it gets hot enough out, I'll try again and see what happens

Im at the dealer and they are telling this is normal, Im about to go insane on them. Im telling them my 2013 works well. Im not going to waste my time with these guys... Im just going to tell them to open a ticket with chrysler and give me the case number... Ill chase it myself
Dont waste your time and go to the dealer. You need to call Chrysler at (800) 992-1997 and tell them that you are having this issue, they told me I was the first person to call with this issue. They put me on hold, came back and told me this is how it is suppose to work. I told them that my 2013 did not have this issue, and they needed to escalate. Im waiting on a call back. More of us need to call them and put pressure on them.
Got it.... I'll call them... I am goin to dealer tomorrow ...
No way remote start is supposed to shut climate down....isn't that why people get it??? So the car will be warm or cool when you get in it??? How can they say its normal with a straight face.. It would be the only remote start on the market that is simply there to turn your car on
Same issue for me. I shut the car down with AC on auto. Normal start AC is on auto. Remote start, and AC is off. Same result regardless of the interior comfort on with remote start setting.
