The V6 Transmission made by Chrysler had numerous Shift Pattern complaints vs the V8 Transmission made by ZF has next to 0 complaints so they updated the shift patterns on the V6 only.

Now this thread is about the Climate Control not working properly on Remote Start. That fix applies to both Engines and is not related in any way to the Transmission update(s)

It used to stay on when I'd open the passenger side then shut off with the driver's side. Working OK now regardless of which door I open.
Hi Sir,

I think my 2014 Overland only has a partial problem with the remote start AC. when I remote start it, the AC is running but the fan speed is very much reduced so it does not cool down as fast as it could. When I open the drivers door, it cranks up the fan speed. Even if I set the internal temperature to 72 F which is the default for remote start, the fan only runs at very low speed until I open the drivers door. I know therefore, I don't have issue with it shutting off the AC when opening the drivers door. Does the software update mean the fan then runs at full speed to aid cooling when you remote start?

Many thanks and kind wishes,

~Tom

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

Hi chaps,

I'm new to this forum so I hope this is the right way to post a question. I just asked the same thing to one person specifically but really wanted the question to you all.

Anyway from reading your forum on the remote start AC issue, I think my 2014 Overland only has a partial problem. When I remote start, the AC is running but the fan speed is very much reduced so it does not cool down as fast as it could. When I open passenger door, the AC fan is still low, but when I open the driver's door, it cranks up the fan to full speed. Even if I set the internal temperature to 72 F which is the default for remote start, the fan only runs at very low speed until I open the driver's door. I know therefore, I don't have issue with it shutting off the AC when opening the driver's door. Does the software update mean the fan then runs at full speed to aid cooling when you remote start? It seems silly to have a remote start in summer and the AC only work at minimum until I get in.. I bought my Jeep in June of this year so it is still built prior to the July 30th bulletin.
Other than that, I am delighted with my Jeep!

Many thanks and kind wishes,

~Tom

It SHOULD reprogram the system so that it behaves as intended. Mine blast cold until the driver's door is opened, at which point it will revert back to my personal settings. It can't hurt to give it a try. I got to the dealer early in the morning and I was out in about 30 mins.

Also, they mentioned that they are having internet problems and they may have trouble retrieving the files that they need. I'm debating if I should go back or try a different dealer. What would you do?
I'd probably look for another dealer if possible. My dealer had me out of there in under 45mins. I got there early in the morning while it was calm. Find one that is more receptive to customers bringing them the TSBs. My guy laughs. He said I keep him on his toes.

This is how it should work... If you open the door the fan MAY slow down depending on how close to your personal comfort settings the system is if you left it in auto. Otherwise it simply recalls the last manual setting.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

Thanks chaps,

Since my fan always runs minimum on remote start until I open driver's door, I will get it reprogrammed next time I am at the dealership. Hopefully they will know what needs to be done. I will keep you informed of my progress!

best wishes,

~Tom

Have the TSB number or a printout of it in hand (it's in this thread somewhere) just in case they get all "We don't know anything about that" on you.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

Had the A/C TSB done today when I took the Jeep in for service.

It's soooo nice to not have to turn the A/C back on every time I use the remote start.

Now if they get the outside temperature and radio updates released I think I'll be in good shape for Winter - all else seems to work pretty well (knock on wood).

All Software needs to be updated at some point to correct any issues.

It would really nice if software updates were available on the internet and we upload them ourselves through for instance a flash drive.
