That's true. Seems like Chrysler released this version of the Uconnect before they did any real world testing on it.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

Mine is always off whenever I remote start it. I usually have it on a manual mode and still no dice. I hope they are working on a serious software upgrade for all of these issues.

Unfortunately, I think the real world testing falls to us.

I always keep mine on Auto so earlier tonight set it to Manual, fan speed 4 and turned off the jeep. Locked it, waited about a minute remote started it and it came on! As soon as i touched the door handle (keyless entry), opened the door it shut off...I left it in manual mode again, parked it then remote started it again about 45 minutes later and it was OFF and did not come on this time.

It always turns on when i don't remote start it so this is obviously an issue with the remote start sequence that turns the climate control off. Other then this i have no other issues with my 14' and just passed 1000 miles tonight, its been great so far. Maybe when it's time to go in for an oil change they'll have a fix

I think you have to let it sit for about 15 minutes to see if it really works. When I shut mine off leaving whatever method if AC on and only wait a minute it will start back up just fine under any method. If I wait 15 minutes, nothing.

I did. Left it for around 45 min and when i remote started it again it didn't come on.

Re: 2014 AC not working with Remote Start

So, it sounds like the bottom line at this point is that we all just need to bitch to Chrysler, and see if it gets us anywhere? It seems pretty clear it doesn't matter whether we leave it in "auto" or a manual setting, the net result is the same: Remote start essentially has been relegated to a worthless gimmick.

Hopefully, this -- and the automatic "easy entry/exit mode" for the QL suspension (the one that's promised in the manual, but nowhere to be found on our Jeeps) -- can be resolved in a UConnect update sooner than later.

Other than that, we're loving our new 2014! It's just frustrating that something which worked perfectly fine for all of us on prior vehicles (including my wife's 2008 Overland) now has emerged as a problem ... especially with summer coming!

OK, I'll stop bitching now. It's still a sweet ride, and my wife can't complain too much about this issue, considering none of the other things we were looking at (ML, X5, etc.) have remote start, anyway!

I'll wait till the bugs are worked out,I never had remote start on any of my previous vehicles so I'll miss not one thing. I'll also wait to register the uconnect to avoid issues with the system and to give Chrysler a chance to work through the complaints.

I couldn't summarize it better myself. Folks please call the 800 number in the previous pages and demand ticket numbers that way we can track them.

On a different note what is the QL suspension?

Today I tested remote start using the key fob, ac was on auto and LO, I went to the passenger door and I checked the ac and it was going full speed, as soon as I touched the driver's door it slowed down until I pushed the start again.

I believe someone else here reported the same thing about driver's/passenger door. So I would try this test as well if you haven't done that yet.

We tried the same thing today ... and, what do you know, it actually worked! Same result as you (and a couple of others) have reported: A/C engaged -- and was blowing cold with decent power -- after the remote start, and continued to blow after passenger door(s) and lift gate were opened. Then, as soon as I touched the driver's door, it shut completely off. (The fan speed didn't just slow down; it died, completely.)

So, it certainly seems like it's just a little programming/Uconnect glitch, causing the climate control to turn off when the car is restoring the driver's settings after passive entry (or, presumably, after a keyfob unlock request, too?). Not great ... but no big deal, since apparently we actually can still cool/heat the car with remote start, after all.
