Hey Snipe did you do the break pad bedding thing. I went out late last night and attempted to get a few stops from 60 in hard to do where I live but I managed to get about 5 in and to my amazement I had no break squeal this morning. I'm not saying it won't come back but this is the first time since buying it in may that my breaks didn't squeal in the morning.

I've done that as well.

It will make the squealing go away... for a while. But it always eventually returns.

Re: 2014 Brake squeal

My brakes just started squeaking. Anybody know if this would apply once you have 18,000 miles like me? I guess it's possible they are worn all the way down but it seems a bit early.

Re: 2014 Brake squeal

The low frequency front brake noise fix on the Grand Cherokee is to remove a small amount of material(~0.5 mm) from the ends of the front outboard brake pad shoe plates only--not the inboard brake pad shoe plates. This can be easily accomplished with a file or by other means. This is a common issue with the style of brake caliper used on the Grand Cherokee. Removing material from the ends of the outboard brake shoe plates prevents the ends from making a "push" type contact with the caliper bracket during light braking. The outboard shoe plate is essentially put into a "pull" contact with this modification.
