Re: 2014 Capless Fuel Filler Cap

I've found some gas stations give me issues and some do not.

I've started to learn which ones to avoid.

You might try a different (brand) station.

This only happens in the cheaper gas ones.

I'm fully prepared to run into issues myself but nothing...
Filling up is fine and after that is done I make sure to gently close that flimsy fuel door, brute force and it will fly away

Yes, totally.
To be honest: I can't wait for the day (3 more years) for the Grand Cherokee to find a new home, so sad but true.
The transmission alone makes me take an anger bath each evening

I have never seen this happen in my 2014 and I love my Grand Cherokee.

Re: 2014 Capless Fuel Filler Cap

Bumping a slighty old thread here.

I had the issue where the gas pump would constantly click when the nozzle was placed into the neck. So in order for that not to happen I literally have to hold the nozzle upside down and wait for it to click. Quite annoying.

Brought it into the dealer, the fuel filler neck was replaced. Filled up after the dealer and no issue. For now. lol

Was talking to the tech who is a friend and he was cursing the capless system. He said this is the 8th one that he has done.

68243684AA is the part number if anyone is interested

Re: 2014 Capless Fuel Filler Cap

Imwhen it happens to me I simply do a 360 turn and have no issues after. It's delicate sometimes and it all depends on the nozzle. Not all stations have the same nozzle.

I knew there was a cheap cap out there: Mopar 82214609, $16.91 to the door via Amazon.com. It is the non-locking type.
