My 2014 GC has an issue with fuel door.
When I push a fuel-door button from my dash, a fuel door is not popping out itself.
I hear a latch sound, I believe a latch and cable works fine.
It looks just spring issue.
Every time in gas station, I ask someone to push a door switch, then I manually pull the door. I am planning to visit a dealer soon.
A question here... is this simple fix ting? (like a just replace a fuel door from outside) or huge job? (remove interior trim..)
I heard it requires removal of the complete interior and all the exterior body panels from the rear doors back to include the tailgate and roof.
Sounds like something slipped or broke and as a result the door doesnt open when you push the button. Problem is the part(s) could be on back order for next 12mos. Complain nicely and really suck up.
FIXED. I visited a dealer last evening. They did some spring adjustment by fingers and fixed in 5 mins. Also, they advised a manual opening for emergency.
Hello. I had this same issue. After two trips to the dealership to try and fix, they ended up replacing the whole unit. Took 2-3 hours, including dropping down the inside fender well, but it works as it should now. This was a pain for sure.
If it's subzero and ice has frozen the door, ball your fist and hit it a few times before attempting electric release.
If that doesn't work...t can't speak for the 2014, but on my 2013, you open the rear hatch, pull out the little plastic cubby on the left side under the rechargeable flashlight, and pull on the little metal loop to manually open the door. 15 seconds worth of work = problem solved.
