AMC, have you called the NY Attorney General's Office? I have had several things resolved in the past thru them. I would think by now that the Lemon Law should apply.

Give it a shot. There is paperwork to file, but they will work on your behalf.

Nothing.

My wife actually called me just now laughing. She and I just don't understand how we can still love this vehicle this much after what it has put us through. It's a testament to the Jeep brand. We are both totally hypnotized by it. Or something... There is literally no other vehicle on the road that we want. After what Chrysler has put us through with this -- not even responding to me anymore -- I should be taking my dollars elsewhere and saying that I will never buy another Chrysler vehicle as long as I live. Since the first incident when they agreed to refund the tow and pay my first lease payment, which I was fine with (and assumed whatever was wrong would be fixed), their customer service has been nothing short of piss poor. Horrible. Zero. Negative numbers.

Jeep is not a premium brand. Not even close. A premium brand, I would be getting phone calls every day telling me what's going on. After two or three issues, a new car would be appropriate - "we will make this right, because that's what we're made of -- we will show you that you made the right decision buying our brand. Bad stuff happens, lemons happen, but we will prove ourselves to you."

Instead, I get silence. I get "I'd put my wife in this car." I get an empty tank after the dealer drove it 150 miles and didn't refill the tank, while I had to refill their loaner. I get "these are rolling machines, things go wrong..." I get from Russell Ramone, the local rep, "you've compensated them enough -- no way in hell they're getting a new vehicle."

This is how Chrysler/Jeep treats its most loyal customers. I'm a $#&*(%% fool for wanting another. I know I am. But I'm going to roll the dice again.

And if I have ANY of these issues with my new GC, god help every person that has been saying, "the vast majority of owners have no issues with their Grand Cherokees," and "people only come here to complain -- everyone else is out enjoying driving their Jeeps," and "look at the surveys here -- 90% say no problems," because I am going to come over the interwebs, through their computer monitors or tablets or whatever the hell they're using, and I'm going to punch them in the mouth.

I am raw from this. It's total bullshit that Chrysler would make me resort to the law to take care of this. Total BS.

But here we are.

So I'll take a chance with another Jeep, another dealer.

What a chump I am.
Wow, just wow... You know, after I read that your GC was doing great last night, I started feeling positive.. I thought maybe my GC had some hope. I can't believe you are going back to buying a jeep. I still don't know what I should do...

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

My wife and I want so badly to buy a Jeep, but it is issues like you have experienced that has kept us from pulling the string already. I wouldn't dump all domestic manufacturers in with Chrysler. My Chevy dealer has been above average with the 2 issues I had with my 07 Silverado. My only experience with Jeep was an 88 Cherokee Laredo I bought new, which almost swore me off Jeep forever. After seeing the new JGC, I really felt that they had turned the corner. But despite the window dressing, you still need to have a strong support network in place and it is in this facet, I see Chrysler failing badly. They cannot command a premium price without premium service. This is why we look at MB and BMW. Yes, you do pay more, but in the end I have personally seen better treatment from them and they have a tendency of being PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE to issues. Maybe it is JGC growing pains and the dealer/suppliers can't keep up. I am sure that if all the wireless network updates where promised at the same pace as the UConnect promises, we would still be using tin cans and a string. Good Luck with your quest...

@marosenb - You might still have hope... This is just my experience. It might not be yours.

In my case, I think it's an absolute certainty that the voltage spikes damaged more systems in this vehicle than Chrysler will be able to replace with any efficiency. I can't devote any more time to this. It has inconvenienced us to the nines already -- rescheduled doctor appts, canceled trip, lunch times spent shuttling cars around, fuel costs to the dealership.

And as for going back to buying a Jeep, that's what I feel right now. Who knows what could happen in 24 hours. I've gone back and forth from what the heart wants vs. being practical and logical so many times it would make your head spin.

Don't be surprised if after all this I come back and say I have an RDX or Q5 in the driveway. I wish I could just rent a car for a month or two, then come back with fresh feelings... Just pretty confused and exhausted by now. Really really really really wish Chrysler had just stepped up and made this easy for me.

When I spoke with the Audi salesperson, he said he had one Audi buyback in the last two years, and they took care of the guy when it came in the third time for the same issue. He said the guy was pissed because they actually fixed it on the third try, and by then the process had been started. Still, he got a brand new car with no issues...

Our Mercedes dealer will drop off a car at your house and pick up your car for REGULAR SERVICE (maybe they all do, I don't know). I have a hard time believing the MB dealer would have let a customer put up with what some of us here have gone through with their Jeeps.

Sounds like some people should be heading to a Mercedes dealership and an Audi dealership to pay more for their cars do they will feel like they get more at the service department. If you pay upwards of 65-100 thousand dollars then the obvious will occur but even then those cars wind up in the service bays on a regular basis with their own set of issues. If being picked up by the dealership at your house or having them drop a rental car off at your house makes you feel better then go spend the extra cash and enjoy your European autos and their forums and service departments and drop off services.

No, I think it just sounds like someone wants a vehicle that works, and customer support that is useful, when things don't go perfectly. Sorry CHALLENGERBIZJET if hearing that someone is having issues with Chrysler/Jeep bothers you so much.

That seems to be the attitude of some Jeep dealers.

It does really seem to bother him, doesn't it? I'm not sure why he feels a need to comment as captain obvious when some of us are having real issues. And yeah, it does sound EXACTLY like what we're hearing from our Jeep dealers.

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

I was just wondering, for anyone else who might be having the same issues or similar, the last six #'s of my VIN are 119693. It looks like from Jeeps in shipping, they're up to almost 200000, but I don't know if they go sequentially. The Limiteds I'm looking at to replace this one are in the 180000 region. The ones in Granite left on the lots right now I'm looking at are in the 120-130000 range.

Anyone else having issues close to my VIN #?
