Until, at 250 miles,.....

Also didn't want Padgett's question to get lost as I think it's important. Don't know if it's possible to find this out or not, but we can't since the electrical schematics aren't out yet. It might be part of the puzzle. If they share a ground, it might be helpful to know what other components share it as well.

Thanks again.

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

They are hoping they get the new ABS module today. Then they are hoping that that fixes my issue. Then they will give it a quick test drive, and then give it back to me, so I can continue testing it out for them.

codes P2098 P0153 & P0430 where the ones that had them changing my oxygen sensors. They did not give me the codes from my initial breakdown, but told me there were 4 separate ones. I'll get the last set of error codes when I pick it up in the next couple of days.

They have had it already for 7 days on the first visit, 3 or 4 days on the next visit, and this current visit is sitting at 10 days.

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

Just a note: the battery voltage is not visible on the normal EVIC (is '14 different ? )but is to an OBDII display.

Know I am somewhat fanatical about instrumentation (Jags in my yout and have worked for an airframer for a looong time) so one of the displays I keep up all of the time is the battery voltage. (short display shown, finger flick brings up 17 parameters).

Another nice thing about Torque is that for any sensor it can be set to latch on the max or min value. Current versions of Android can multitask so can play Clapton in the background while displaying the engine stuff I cannot see on the dash in the fore.

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

Today's review from the Nuts & Bolts from the Washington Post tested a 2014 GC Limited and said, "Compare with: Range Rover, Ford Explorer Limited, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg VR6 Lux." To be fair, they had their Limited fully optioned up. Just thought that was interesting though, since there had been some talk in this thread about in what playground the GC belongs.

I miss my GC. I mean, I really miss it. Still haven't heard anything on the buyback.

I test drove all of those except the VW, along with the ML350 and Q7 and X5, and the Jeep won for value. I won't lie, the X5 won the brain content, Porsche wins on driver fun quotient, and the Range Rover for feeling like a king.. but when you compare the price for similar equipped GC Overland, its not a real contest. I do feel like people who havent driven one have no respect for them and want to slap me for saying I chose it over those other models, but anyone thats been in it is AMAZED at the ride and tech and dare I say it, the fit and finish.

I do have to tip my hat to your patience... Several pages in this thread back I suggested sitting outside the dealership with a sign saying "Don't buy a Jeep, ask me why"... and I swear I would take a week off to do this every day, and force them to call Chrysler or the police... immature and silly I know, but it would make me feel better.

Yeah, I think the value proposition is so strong here -- which is probably why they can sell all the units they can build. There's just nothing in the price range that does as well all-around.

Honestly, I'm just exhausted by the whole thing. I don't want to ding the dealer too badly for some reason, I guess because they've been nice (the adage about what happens to nice guys could apply here I guess -- applied to me more than the dealership).

What I *would* like to do is go to Chrysler headquarters and do what you suggested. Or maybe the local district service manager's house after his "no way in hell he gets a new car" comment. Those are the two entities that I feel have really let me down here.

Try getting the district managers email address and we can all let him know how we feel about how this is being dealt with... we gotta stick together.
