Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

amc I agree man let them keep it for as long as they want.I really don't think your being unreasonable in fact I cant believe how calm you are lol. But like we discussed take everything you know who says in stride lol....have you thought about recording all the phone calls with the dealer? my father had a lemon and he recording all the conversations whether he was face to face or on the phone and he used it to help his case.... (when the dealer starts the whole "they didn't say something" routine)

New york is a single party consent state, meaning that as long as both parties are within NYS, a phone call may be recorded as long as one of the parties consents (you), and the other party need not be notified of the recording. Last time I checked... so if you were to record someone, I would double check the most current set of laws

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

I think once Chrysler corporate responds to the papers from my lawyer they will just have no way to deny this. I mean, look at this thread. It's obvious. They'll send it right to ISG or whatever it's called.

If anyone ever had a lemon case, I do. Brand new car, four times in for the same issue, ~800 miles, I have hardly driven the vehicle myself and just made my first payment a few days ago.

No arbiter, judge, whomever in the world is going to disagree with swapping this out.

And if they do, I think I will just buy myself a burial plot right now, because I'll be done for this world, having given up on the world and any remote semblance of justice there is supposed to be out there.

What sucks is that most of the late VIN #'s on the lots here (180xxx & up) don't have my exact car (Granite LTD with NAV & sunroof) -- they are identical except they all have added 20" wheels.

I wonder how much it would've cost Chrysler to just swap me an Overland for the same payment as my Limited. For everything I've been through, that's what it would take to make me HAPPY. I mean water-under-the-bridge, yes you really stepped up to the plate happy. Even after all this.

Swapping me an exact vehicle with 20" rims and a very late VIN # would make me "well, I guess I'll get over it, but I'll never forget it, but better late than never, thank you" happy.

Going through the lawyer and getting an exact vehicle and dealing with all the paperwork, the stress of wondering if my payment will be the same, and giving the money right back to the corporation that treated me badly from the start will land me in "I can't believe I'm giving money to this $#@$ organization -- but I love my Jeep" territory.

My guess is that last paragraph is what we're looking at now.

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

Have you contacted the leasing bank? They might want to know what's going on with their vehicle since you're technically renting it from them. I wonder if they would have any more sway in the matter.

I contacted them a couple weeks ago. They said they didn't really need to know that. The woman was very nice though.

One way or another, they get their money regardless... either from you, or from the Manufacturer.

Exactly.

Question is, I wonder how this works now in regard to a lease. My credit score might be different now due to the five or six inquiries I had six weeks ago when I leased this one, and now I heard that Chrysler has its own financing arm. I got this lease at 3%, which was a little more than I'm used to paying. I don't want to pay even more than that. Guess it's a wait and see game.

I'm getting better at that.

Funny how life teaches you things in ways you don't necessarily want to be taught.

It may be different, but for CT lemon law, they give back all money spent. Then you are on your own. If you want another Jeep, it is like starting the car buying experience from scratch, with the current rates, availability, etc.

Wow, I've never researched lemon laws, but I would have hoped you had the choice of swapping out for identical (or better) vehicle or money back, with no additional cost...

If Chrysler where to step up and handle it, that would be the case. Once the lawyers get involved, it is up to the individual state's laws.

Some states leave up to the manufacturer, to get money back, or a similar vehicle. I would rather have my money back then leave it to Chrysler to say what they feel would be a similar vehicle.

I'm pretty sure that's correct here as well. I was told I'd get MSRP to swap, but not sure how that works with a lease. Like you said, it's probably just a money back thing and then I have to go $%#@% shopping all over again.

I hate that part.

I think in this case, you're right. I will probably have to move up to 20" wheels to get the VIN# I want.
