Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

Last off topic post - yes, iOS people are used to paying more for apps. It's the reason I won't develop my app for android. But our options are also limited in this type of app so we have to pay a little more. Whatever. If it does the job well, it's worth it.

I'm wondering if it'll make tracking my miles driven less arduous. I write off some of my miles but I have to always remember to start and stop my mileage tracker app. If it does that automatically it'd pay for itself quickly.

Coming home tonight... On the side of the road with its hazards on. 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited in Granite. Not ours, but identical. Wonder if they were having problems or just pulled over for a phone call or something? :-)

To add to the list of bad 2014s

My buddy bought a 2014 V6 Limited this weekend.I had mentioned the issues some of you guys have been having before he got it. All seemed well until yesterday when his instrument cluster froze and the radio system went out as well.

Luckily for him, the dealer hadn't registered the Jeep yet due to the holiday weekend and they also had written up the contract on the 2013 Overland he had test drove the same day as the limited. They ended up swappimg the 14 Limited for the 13 Overland. He got it for 37K ish.

He told me he really like the 14 but wasn't going to put up with issues on a car that was two days old and had 2 miles when he picked it up. He took it back with 130.

I'm glad he was able to get a quick resolution. I hope you get one that is satisfactory to you as well.

Good luck.

Bill's statement really does nail it for the 2014 GC, doesn't it!

Someone needs to send this quote to the quality department at Chrysler/Jeep.

Sounds like a good dealer, willing to take a car back with 130 miles on it.

To be fair, I think others have had the issue with rebooting dash/uconnect and while it is concerning I think I heard in this thread or another that a software update is pending?

Still, probably a wise decision. You don't want to start out with issues like that. I like the improvements on the 14s, but I definitely keep pondering if I should just make an offer on the 13 Trailhawk that is sitting in front of the dealership if and when I get my refund on this one.

So far have not heard of any troubles with Laredos. Is that because no-one bought one ?

Re: 2014 GC Totally $#@% dead

Just spoke with the service manager at the dealership. They are still waiting for a Chrylser technician to stop by and look at my Jeep. He said they've never seen anything like this (lucky me). In fact, the service manager bought a 2014 for his wife, so he is confident that the Uconnect issues and all the minor annoyances some of us here have encountered will be fixed soon. But it does look like those of us who had severe electrical issues are in the extreme minority.

I told him that I had been forced to file for lemon status and that it was nothing against his dealership or service department. He said he understood and he was aware of this and he wasn't taking it personally, that he would have done the same thing most likely if he was in my place.

Meanwhile, the lawyer said Chrysler probably won't make any offer on my vehicle until I get it back, so it appears I'm in a wonderful state of limbo right now. I guess Chrysler could take a month to get a technician here if they wanted.

Meanwhile, our annual summer vacation is quickly approaching and it looks like we will either be in a rental or a loaner for it. This trip is one of the reasons I bought the GC in the first place and it really burns me we will have to take a less substantial vehicle on the trip unless I can find a good deal somewhere on a decent rental as I am NOT taking this GC on a 1000 mile journey.

Lol. It does seem as tho everyone has a limited or overland now that you bring it up. Tons of max steels too.
