Good point. In my case though, I think I would then seek to lower my payments.

Whatever you decide on, I hope it works out perfectly.

As far as the process goes, ISG told me we had a deal, and they would begin work to complete everything on July 1st, and I am still hopeful it will happen this week... As of right now, I am the proud owner of 2 2014 JGC's, one of which doesn't work so well

Yeah, I think I will head over to our local dealership one more time this weekend and see if I can work a deal. They currently have three vehicles identical to mine, all with VINs in the 211's. Should be perfect (a few months after first launch, but before Jefferson North veterans go on summer vacation -- heheh)...

I'm tempted to go with a broker, but then I won't have control over which dealership and which VIN I get.

I'll probably have two vehicles for a short time as well. At least it will give me a chance to get my Wrangler in for some suspension work at the indie mechanic so I'll still have a ride to work.

I think it's getting there. I'm told Chrysler should have paperwork ready to sign in a day or two, and then it's two to three weeks before turn-in date.

I reached out to the local dealership (the one that never seems to want to take my money) and am trying to come to some arrangement on terms over email. I don't like negotiating in person because I always feel like I miss something. I have pretty bad ADD and I like to be able to take my time and look over the numbers. So far, it doesn't look good and I might end up looking at a GMC Terrain for less money. I don't know yet. As I have stated many times, we love the GC but the one thing I think my wife and I realized on the trip up and back to NH is that the seats really aggravated her hip condition and the driving position injured my shoulder. I'm continuing to be in pain even into this week. Not sure how we get around that. I don't drive the GC enough to experiment with driving position.

Never had this issue with European automobiles. The Acura was OK too. I have never been in an American car where the seats felt "right" on a long trip, and our Forester was pretty bad in that regard as well.

We'll see. For now, we're heading down the road to another GC, but that might change. We have a week or so to figure it out. I want a little overlap between cars.

How are you making out? Enjoying the new ride I hope! Have you disposed of the old one yet?

If that's the case, why would you even consider another one????

Did the seat actually injure your shoulder or aggravate it?

Heh... Check out my thread entitled "and so it continues" I can't figure out how to link to it on my iPhone, but it's not hard to find. Short version though is it had to be towed to the dealer.

I have a muscular issue that shows up from time to time. It has been fine for months, but then going up and returning from a long trip, it was really bad.

After driving up to NH, we spent a day in the walk in clinic (on vacation) and another in the ER getting her a cortisone shot for her hip. We pretty much traced it to the seat. It was an issue before we left, but the Jeep made it much worse.

I guess we're both just figuring maybe we'll find a way to finally adjust the seats. My wife though is in PT now (probably needed for a while) and is hoping to rehabilitate the hip enough that she can tolerate long drives. But the Jeep seats are pretty hard as seats go.

I had the same shoulder issue in my Mazdaspeed6 until I figured out a good seating position. I guess that's the problem with seats that adjust forty zillion directions.

Perhaps something like this could help:

Thanks. I think we're both doing a bit better now...

Just heard back from Dan at Browns. He seemed offended I questioned his numbers and basically said "the numbers are the numbers what do you want from me?" I wasn't accusing him of being dishonest, I just wanted more information than he seemed willing to give me -- what the money factor was, what the buy rate is, what their fees were...

Why can't dealers just give you the friggin numbers? I'm not playing games here. Again, I have cash in hand ready to buy and the more time that goes by, the more I think a GC isn't going to be our replacement vehicle.

Everything is simple. Those who should know and pretend it isn't are hiding something.
