Hello:

The headliner that is supposed to be tucked under the front overhead console, is too short, and is out. I took it to the dealership over a month ago for service and noted what I think is a factory defect, and they told me they would have to run it through Jeep corporate to make sure it get's approved for repair/replacement. They still are looking into it, or corporate hasn't given them a response. It smells like the run around to me, but I'd figure I ask you guys here. Do I have to worry about this being approved, I figured it would be a simple straightforward yes?

If in the case, it doesn't get approved, I think my only option is to pay out of pocket. I have the max extended warranty, would this be covered under that plan?

Thanks,
Amado

Sounds like your dealer is a putz. If it were me, I'd try another dealer. That should be repaired with no questions asked.

I think I had the same issue: a small gap where the headliner doesn't extend under the plastic housing that contains the sunroof and maplight buttons. I brought it up with my dealer when the car was in for other service issues. They removed and replaced the plastic housing, shifting it back slightly. It looks better now, but not perfect.

Yeah, these guys I bought the car from, didn't even offer to "try" to reposition the overhead console. I'm thinking they will probably are afraid they will have to pay for the entire headliner. Either way I'm thinking of just going to another dealership. I bought this car in Northern New Jersey, Route 4 Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Anybody have recommendations for other dealerships in the area?

Thanks again,
Amado

I had a couple of fit and finish issues at delivery and the dealer, who I have no reason not to trust, said these are what is known as "digital fit" issues and need to approved by corporate and be dealt with by the delivering dealer. Not sure if that is 100% accurate but was just what I was told.

They were also ridiculously slow to get a response from corporate and the dealer finally decided to classify the issues as "adjustments" under warranty instead.
