Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

You don't know how much better I feel now that I know that I'm not alone with my issues!

White '14 Laredo CRD.

Cruise Control that will crash on the freeway.
UConnect freeze/sudden reboot
....and my husband tells me that there's rust on my drivers size wiper.

Special thanks to the post who provided the link to Chrysler's notice about the issues.

Not sure if you've found it yet but this is the main Aussie JGC thread. Lots to peruse in there.

Normally I'd get upset at being told where to go but in this case I'll make an exception! Thanks for the heads up SJandL

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Just back from service department....Aircon fixed. woohoo!!

They told me they had fixed the Cruise Issue...they were wrong
What they did:

"Code found P2299 - brake or accelerator position incompatible
Checked and found brake pedal push rod incorrectly installed causing incorrect reading to position sensor..
Reinstalled pushrod.
Cruise control tested OK."

As soon as I drove the car and selected cruise it worked...then I hit the brake pedal then the cruise indicator light went out...

I could not then get the cruise indicator/light to come back on.... until I stopped the car turned off and turned back on again.

This is a RHD Laredo Diesel...strike a chord with your Jeep ?

Im thinking we should start a thread just for this issue...thoughts anyone ?

If they cant fix it on Friday how can the issue be escalated to Jeep?

I think we better get used to the bitter taste of Lemons.
Update:
Got the car back after 2 day's in the service Centre. Leak was a seal on the upper sump? ??
They downloaded 4 pages of fault codes after the xmas tree incident. Said they couldn't pin it down to anything so they reset the codes and sent us on our way.... bet it happens again. Haha
Might have to ask for a summit as a replacement soon.... webber will be ropable!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Problem 1 - Driving along and alarm came up Change Oil Soon. My GC is only 2 months old with about 6300kms a long way from the 12000km service. Rang the dealer and was told not to worry about it as it is set for 6 months or 120000kms. I told him neither of those 2 criteria were met but he didn't have an answer. He told me if I wanted to reset the alarm just turn the car on, pump the accelerated 3 times, turn the car off, turn the car on again and pump the accelerator 3 times again and turn the car off and it will be reset. Did as the dealer said and it worked. Any one else had the problem?

Problem 2 - Last two days have been warm in Melbourne. Every time I started the GC it would put the Drivers seat cooling on low. I went through all the menu options and can't find any such setting. Only setting for comfort is heated steering wheel on. Any one else noticed this?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Update for 2014 GC Take Two:

This one is a July 13 build date GC CRD Limited and I have now done 1300kms with it and have just had the FREE 1000km service carried out today.
The only problems I have had are:
The cruise control won't select back ON when cancel is pressed then resume pressed on occasions, seems OK if you use the brake to cancel, engine has to be switched OFF to get cruise back.(request put in for fix feedback).
Radio range seems poor, FM and even AM stations have static and bad reception.(They have done an update on radio). Next trip will tell.
Rattle from right side of dash, does not occur all the time but when it does seems to increase intensity then stops.(They could not reproduce fault). Seen other reports of this noise from within the dash, time will tell.
Queried the transmission temps being so high at highway cruise, 93degC and OAT 28degC. (no fault code NO PROBLEM). Will be interesting with 2700kg on it's back in Kununnarra at 43degC.
Anyway All's well really, finish and trim fantastic the tranny is smooth the engine is sweat, fantastic fuel economy, quiet inside and heaps of GO.

I noticed that my transmission temp was 55degC and that was when it was parked with the motor off and had not been driven for over 4hrs.

Do they specify an 'ideal' running temp?

You can turn the setting off. It is called auto comfort setting.
Go in to settings, then Auto-On comfort, then uncheck the box.
Seats and steering will now not come on with temp automatically.

Cheers Brad
