Australian GC owners please post problems with your vehicle here.
Keep it factual and don't post comments regarding possible fixes or other sentiments. This is more of a statistical exercise to gauge the scope of issues.

Eg
Variant ...(Laredo CRD)
Problem... (Climate control not functioning)

I will also put regular links to this thread on Jeep Au Facebook page :)

Thanks

My gc in again last week at 8900 ks with same throttle body and blocked exhaust fault. Got towed this time. Its been 9 days and no call or info about whats happening except from Jeep Aust to say part in usa arriving soon and local dealer should have told them at second time. My 1999 jag v8 going strong still... Paul

Today Jeep told me the part " exhaust sensor ??" was still in USA and should arrive early Jan and I should get GC back by mid Jan !!!!
So they have arranged a "warranty replacement car" being a hire car from Hertz until car repaired. It is meant to be ready Monday.. we will see...I keep seeing other GC diesels driving around so why me???

Went to collect the hire car arranged by Chrysler Australia on 23 dec... They wanted me to pay $240 week insurance for the car use.....Im still paying $240 a week for the car payments so I said " Not taking it"...... Called Jeep again who said part still in USA so clearly they are in no hurry and are waiting for a fast boat to deliver... The Truth ??? I do not believe they have a solution...... Jag still going well..... made by ford of course....

Tell them you will happily pay insurance if they in turn pay your car insuranfe zip aswell as repayments and inconvenience fee.... can't believe that they would even suggest that. We had a hire car for a month Jan 2014, and they didn't ask us for a cent.

Picked up the GC Limited 2 weeks ago, and from day one the Volume control on the steering wheel didn't work. Taking it back tomorrow, but I doubt it would get resolved so quickly.
Also, glitches in the U-connect. Pushing up on the steering control for the indash display causes the radio to go to AM stations. I didn't even know those were connected.
When my phone pairs with the system, it automatically goes to my playlist.

I knew there was a risk when purchasing the car considering all the tech it has. It just annoys me when something doesn't work from day one. Mechanically though, it is perfect.

2014 GC 'Blackhawk' CRD 1300kms

Rear Camera cycles between working 5% of the time flickering 10% of the time and Blue Screen 85% of the time. Been in for repair two hours later did it again.

Driving along dash started beeping at me and all the interior lights came on for no apparent reason, has done this a few times.

Auto Wipers come on on perfectly sunny days no traffic in front.

Auto headlights do not work (not that I can tell)

Well I finally had the front knocking/rattle repaired today. After several months waiting the LHF strut assembly was replaced. It's like a new car, and about time.

While the dealer had the car they did the DPF TSB and a Uconnect update. I've never had any DPF problems, so the cynical side of me hopes the update doesn't introduce any :D

It would be really helpful if any of you posting with problems included a build date.

As for mine, built Jan14, no problems thus far apart from the occasional cruise control problem (software re flash fix) and still occasional diesel clatter as others have described.
Zero DPF issues at this stage, but still keen to get the December software flash update done ASAP which apparently fixes the clatter and does a better job of DPF regeneration.

The dec 14 software fixed my blocked exhaust message and the cruise control not always working. Seems the software changes the temp parameters so the computer now accepts the different temp readings. My gc always stopped 4 ks from home bec computer thought it was running outside temp limits.. built 8/ 13 with vm motor. Paul

I wonder how many problems have been caused by overfilling the sump by numbskull mechanics??
Was talking to guy yesterday who was complaining of a new oil leak, and a clogged DPF, on his Navara, both just after a service. He then just happened to mention that the sump was very significantly overfilled at the same time....
Coincidence???? Me thinks not!

Overfilling a sump can cause a lot of drama on any engine, from blown seals to excessive oil in the crankcase vent system. Of course, some engines will be more susceptible than others. (My old TD42 Patrol didn't mind an extra litre or so at all.)
Combine that with the strange dipstick phenomenon on this VM engine where you will often get incorrect readings if you don't do it "just right", and it makes me wonder. My suggestion: check you're not overfilled after any service.

Still venting on Jeep. Picked the vehicle up this morning only sales staff on duty. Drove the vehicle out of the yard with normal air-conditioning settings L22c R23c ambient 22c all looking good with temp reducing initially then about 500mtrs on noticed the vent temp start to rise to over 30c (have a guage in the vent outlet) and the cabin was getting very hot. Returned to dealership, left vehicle running found a sales guy to show him what was happening. Vent temp had reduced slightly by this time but was still up around 30c. He played with it and agreed that it was not normal in the way it was behaving after moving the temp settings and so on. What happened during the service visit? Must have been Look but don't See! The sales guy was helpful but then proceeded to tell me with 7 years experience selling Jeeps this was the first problem he had seen. I know for a fact that the dealer principle there had an SRT and like other GC'S had the updates for the HVAC for hot cabins. Sales Bullshit. Anyway back it goes AGAIN.
14-104 carried out all seemed OK with just the normal minor clatter on acceleration.

I think there is an inherent problem with Jeep air con, my 13 model is about 80% ok but not perfect by any means and I don't believe that software updates will fix the problem. One of my previous vehicles, a made in Japan Toyota had climate control that was perfect in every way and it worked without any so called software fixes. The temp in mine runs a little to hot as it needs to be set at 19* to be comfortable and the auto fan speed is far to high, I have just resigned to the fact that maybe this is as good as it will get. Other than that the GC is running well with no problems to report at the next service @ 30k.

Thanks Guy's for your feedback. I think they where all hoping that the PCM replacement was going to fix it, seeing it thru up the unusual high cabin temperature code message. From most people I talk to about their 13/14 GC the climate control is set and forget almost, thru all ambient temp changes. They mostly use a setting of 23c or 24c, that would be impossible in my vehicle. There are a few on this forum with HVAC issues. At least with MY Dummy Spit now they have forwarded all the data I have collected over the last 3 months to JA. Yep Wont Hold my Breath.
Maybe the Robinsons lawn has grown so much because they Cant Get Back!

After running through faults I believe I have new one, cruising at highway speed when engine went to limp mode. After stopping, message said Engine speed control module needs serviceing, stopped engine, Engine fault light up, restarted engine and was able to drive on. Unsure of problem so left cruise control off. Having another eight hours to travel, kept going, had engine go to limp mode approximately 5 more times, after arriving at destination first thing next morning at jeep dealership. Diagnosed faulty PCM module, was replaced after part was sourced from over east, roughly 460 km's heading home(1200 k trip) same fault occurred, currently awaiting Jeep assist to pick up, Engine fault light has gone off,
Laredo 2014, CRD approx. 30 k on odometer
also on return journey had exhaust regeneration come on, what is this?
as you can guess I don't live near the big cities so hoping it gets sorted, lost vehicle for 5 weeks last oct/nov electrics controlling radiator fan.

I had similar DPF issues a year ago from new. After months of frustration Jeep eventually decided to replace the entire DPF unit. A year later no problems at all.

Exhaust generation is something to do with the catalytic converter if you drive under 100kph or a city driver the gunk builds up and you gave to take it out on the open road so as it can burn off this stuff back to empty mine was like this but they fixed it

That may be what your dealer told you, but it's not correct. It is a software fault, you should get regen even in city driving.

If you want to learn all about it, read this thread from this post #569 where Steve starts to crack whats going on. - http://www.jeepgarage.org/f190/is-dpf-issue-for-2014-crd-fixed-now-71792.html#post1138802

Well that's a First. Feedback from Jeep is that they have looked at the data I supplied about the HVAC system. Plus the info from the service department and have authorised some items to be replaced for troubleshooting when spares are available. This is a massive step forward for Jeep. A new beginning, Customer Service.

Never in my life have I seen so many different threads related to a multitude of different problems with one model of car. I have a 2914 JGC picked up in August 2013 in the 18months + of dealing with this POS(piece of sh#t) I can understand why. here is a little example of what I have had to deal with and still dealing with.

Pickup day
3 weeks late Sales rep in a hurry to get me out found damage to roof and chrome
Week 1
Dash and lights blanked out at 110km/h pitch black country road 1/2 hour to get it to start again. this happened 3 times in 6 months.

A/C freezing cold one side bloody hot the other.
Hands free phone not working.
5 times could not detect fob late for appointments.
demister only work 1/2 windscreen lucky it was drivers side.
Alarm goes off when unlocking car with fob buttons.
rear tail gate not opening with less than 5 presses
speedo and all the alarms on the dash going off at once 20mins to reset by locking and unlocking
engine warning light staying on 2 days
reverse camera not working
adjusted AC temp and CD player repeated same song until I stopped car on 45 min trip to work cant stand Pearl Jam anymore.
Auto Hi beam disabling itself causing hi beam to oncoming and leading cars.
4 times an issue with particle burn last one registered 185% full
Dealer damage to dash and trim when replacing computer and wiring
Wipers failing to go on had to stop and shut down and restart to get working.
answered phone and wipers went on full speed until call ended.

Have asked for refund and new car even asked for the paint to be changed to lemon yellow no reply and no sense of humour

This is on going and only 50% of the issues.

Anyone else beat that

Gdog
