Australian GC owners please post problems with your vehicle here.
Keep it factual and don't post comments regarding possible fixes or other sentiments. This is more of a statistical exercise to gauge the scope of issues.

For us we are having a mild wet winter. 2-3 overnight 12 during the day.
Expect a few -2 and -3 in the next month.
Don't forget to deactivate your alarm when get loaded on the boat. Not much fun when you get dragged out of bed at 1am to go and turn your alarm off.
For those that have fitted jeep Bash plates, mine came with another plastic/ carpet version, did u fit that plastic version under the steel plate or just the steel plate.
Maybe I did, I have two carpet covers now hence why I asked, wasn't sure it was supposed to go on with the steel one for sound deadening or something like that, Anyhow didn't make any sense at the time, thanks for your reply Steve.
Hi,
Has anyone experienced diesel fuel filters failing?
It has happened twice with me.
The filters fail and leak quite a lot. You leave a trail of fuel behind when driving and a pool while stopped at the lights.
Could it be due to aftermarket filters used?
It was last serviced at a reputable jeep mechanic who mentioned this is common with our vehicles.

Andrew I use after market fuel filters and have had no problems. Interesting comment from a jeep Mechanic. I use AC Delco GM# 19280202, they were I believe cross ref. from the Jeep 04726067aa to a Ryco equivalent and then to AC Delco. The AC Delco P/n are for a Holden Captiva Diesel. They are a lot cheaper than JEEPs and appear to be only slightly different in the filtration quality. I have never had any issues or leaks but do replace the on a more regular basis.
Hi everyone, I've read through this post and have noticed a lot of key issues with the GC. I was wondering if most of these issues have been resolved with software updates and TSBs?
Is there any other known issues that have not yet been resolved?
I was looking at purchasing a used 2014 GC Limited Diesel. I have driven a friends 2016 GC Laredo 4x2 and have had no issues so far with the few times I've driven it.
I believe its in the installation if there is a problem with them leaking. When you install new filters you have to lubricate the large O-ring with either fuel or a light oil coating. Then you must be careful that the O-ring doesn't get any sand or dirt into the O-ring grove and ensure the O-ring stays in the grove. Also when you tighten the caps you MUST not over tighten them (torque to spec as listed on the cap) or the O-ring will be damaged and if it doesn't leak right away then it WILL leak over time as fuel will escape past the damaged O-ring. Also you must follow Jeeps maintenance schedule as to how often and when to change them. I have done these things and have had no issues with the fuel filters.
Thanks Hutch, so just had all the software updates and TSB's done and all good?
I generally keep my cars between 5-7 years so just concerned about longevity. This car has most tech for it's price range and size. It has a lot going for it but just reliability was something raised in every forum and article.
Hi, I have had no problems with my 2013 Limited CRD, now at 60k. I have had no warranty claims apart from software updates and a couple of minor recalls.
I believe the new Jeep's are now as good as any other brand out there on the market.
Remember anything that is 'man made' can fail, that's why we have multiple redundancies built into today's modern Aircraft.
Forgot to mention, I do have one gripe, the GPS is terrible, maps are way out of date and no one can tell me if there is ever going to be updates available. Eg, a trip from Bris to Syd recently had me driving through paddocks in a couple of places and on the return trip via the New England the turn off on to the hwy didn't exist, had to do it the old fashion way... follow the hwy signs.
Crazy, a $100 Tom Tom would do better.

Have you went through the set-up in the Uconnect you can adjust it to fit your needs. also the following site has updates. Hope this helps Chrysler Group | Home | HERE
Yeah that's a fair complaint. I really only use the Nav for the final address... if I don't know my way to the area I always check with Google Maps on my mobile.
Another potential concern is being stuck waiting for parts, especially crash related. I don't know if this has improved, but there's a history of owners having to wait for parts to ship... and I mean that literally, by boat.
Don't know if I'd buy much else in the market however, and I was a reasonably staunch Toyota man prior to our MY14. The girl said try it, and if you don't like it you can have the "vet car" (200).

I had one experience, a couple years ago now, where I damaged the step ladder and front guard trim in a cark park bing. It was going to take a least 6 weeks getting the parts from the Jeep dealer so I just went on-line and ordered the parts from a USA dealer. The parts arrived in a week and at half the cost (including delivery). The AUD was higher back then but even so, it would have been cheaper.
I have for sale a brand new set of Firestone Air Assist bags for the rear coil suspension, the box is unopened, selling due to cancelled purchase of our Caravan.
PM me if you are interested.
I have a mate who has them fitted, recons their great, they only need 5 - 10 psi and they take some of the load off the springs and are supposed to improve shock absorber life? That going by the sales blurb.
Hi fellow members, I am trying to find the Mopar site where you can get a quote on servicing, it used to be easy to find, all I can find now is a booking service.
I would like to know the recommended cost of a 60,000 km service.
The 60,000 on ours which was performed Dec 14th 2015 was $523. If the figures on the spreadsheet haven't changed then I think you're looking at the $530 mark rounded.
FWIW, our 70,000 2/6/2016 was $414 and our 80,000 16/12/16 was $1150 (so the 80,000 was a bit cheaper than the ss).

Hi again, well I just had my 60k service done at Cricks, my main grip is that the extended warranty I paid for has lots of 'strings' attached, anything to do with seals or gaskets is not covered, so an oil leak from the engine sump is going to cost hundreds to fix... not happy?
Another problem not covered is that the Auto exit stopped working on the drivers seat, told it requires a Recalibrate of the seat settings and again no warranty cost $150
Has anyone got any idea how to do this 'Recalibrate' ?
Your advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. The problem occurred when I moved the seat back as far as it would go while cleaning the carpet, when I started the car all the memory settings for the seat were lost and the auto seat function no longer worked... bit weird hey.
You have a couple of quick options.
If you push one of the memory setting on the door trim this should put the seat back in a known position for the exit feature to function again.
Other wise without sitting in the seat run it all the way forward, then all the way to the rear..
Should be good to go!!
I tried the memory function but the settings were lost, tried the second option with the ign on, seat all the way forward then back, worked a treat... thanks.
All functions restored, shame the Jeep dealership didn't know the simple fix.
Guys, can anyone help me fix this 3-4, 4-3 lurch. I have had the valve body change, jeeps out of warranty, the fuse rest trick is temporary. Is there any one/ anything else I can do to force the situation on FCA
If the initial repair was under warranty, I would have thought they had an obligation to fix the problem? Maybe some consumer advice is required.
Also if you are in an Auto Club they usually have free legal advice available.
Wish I could be of more assistance.
When cold, or a restart after several hours sitting, I have an occasional miss or hesitation at low speed under light acceleration.
It's not a gearbox thing and is usually at about 1200rpm - 1500rpm when just lightly touching the accelerator pedal. With just a bit of load such as an incline. Almost like for a moment it runs on less than 6 cylinders. Particularly noticeable in crawling traffic or a car park situation.
Putting the accelerator down 'clears' the hesitation and it runs fine. Doesn't seem to do it all the time and when warm and at full temperature less noticeable (but I suspect is still just there). It's not turbo lag either.
Symptoms can reappear after giving it the 'boot' so it's not like giving a rev clears anything.
Thoughts? Done lots of searching. I suspect it's fuel and/or injector related....
Or perhaps it just doesn't like being cold. And I should get over it.

No. Not after any update.
If it happened years ago, I'd have just said the car needs to warm up or too much 'choke'. Not a big issue but curious.
There was a TSB I've read about for hesitation but this was at speed. Certainly not what I'm experiencing.
It's not the air conditioner either. Tried it on and off. Same issue.
