Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

CRD limited

- climate control as per others but whilst different on each side it doesn't seem as bad as what others describe
- cruise control as per others. Although it has worked quite a few times, it has now turned off about three times when using it to accelerate
- when using the windscreen splashers you get water coming out the squirter s but also from under the bonnet which turns to steam and makes it look like you're about to blow up ( yes a touch dramatic but you get the point)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited CRD

Cruise control
- Does not activate at all. It's been to the dealer twice, issue logged with Jeep in the states for advice.

Centre console compartment
- Compartment door is not aligned properly/warped. New part ordered.

Transmission
- When coming to a stop the vehicle leaps forward when changing into first gear. Although this doesn't happen all the time.

Foot brake
- Car moves forward even after foot brake applied. I put the car into park, apply the footbreak, then turn off the car. Take my right foot off the brake and vehicle moves forward (if facing downhill). Out of curiosity if I then park the car into neutral it doesn't move forward. If I then release the foot brake the car starts rolling forward. So the footbrake does seem to be working, but when it's initially engaged the slight rolling forward does concern me.

Acceleration
- When acceleration briskly from 0km/h there is a rattle sound coming from the drive train. the sound only occurs initially and disappears after around 20km/h.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Limited CRD, Purchased 25/7/2013 4-13 Build (less than 80km)

1. Air-Con climate control does not respond to settings with erratic air distribution, hot air from one side cold the other.
2. U-Connect screen blank with all functions inoperative.
3. Engine vibration / rough running noticeable at idle.
4. High beam has come on once in daylight conditions.(Auto selected)
Has been at the dealers since 30/7/2013.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

The standard problems -

Climate control issues - hot drivers, cold passenger - can't stabilise.

UConnect screen goes blank at times needing a reset.

VR seems problematic - random problems

Headlights go on in bright sunlight when in 'auto'.

2014 SRT 1300kms

Climate control hot drivers, cold passenger side

Headlights on in bright sunlight in auto mode

I-pod connection very slow and resets regularly

Traded a 2012 300 SRT8 in on this with the same uconnect system and never had any of these hassles!! Not good enough for $87k...
Spoke to Tracey at Chrysler Customer Service today and was told a software upgrade will be available at the end of this week - I won't hold my breath!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Electronic throttle: car backfired, went into limp mode. Collected by Jeep assist and taken to Jeep. Known problem. Clip replaced.

After tow bar was fitted, door didn't unlock upon approach. Park sense went silly when I turned the car on. Sorted when it was towed in for throttle.

2014 CRD Overland 1800km

Standard aircon issue. Blows hot one side and freezing on the other.

Front sensors go off every time I stop at the lights.

Using the Adaptive Cruise Control, when braking/slowing I get a ratcheting/cog sound which only occurs while the ACC is engaged. Normal braking/slowing does not repeat the problem.

Occasionally when I press the button to lock the car it won't lock. Only the FOB will lock it.

2014 CRD Limited, 1300km

1) Unstable temperature on the climate control (irrespective of AC being on or not). Issues with significant changes in temperature between drivers & passengers side irrespective of temperature desired.

2) Only have had this once, but a distinct burning smell permeated the cabin. Once I reached my destination I realised it was my car, and noticed smoke coming from behind the front left headlight. Haven't experienced since. The only thing I did different that day was try out the ventilated seats.

Car in dealer today for first service.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

2014 GC overland 5.7L 120kms

1. same AC issues as others i.e cold on drivers side and hot on passenger when synced
2. lights set to auto have randomly come on and dimmed interior lights during day time
3. Standard speedo display loses all the numbers just the dial moving in a ring
4. SD card and USB cards sometimes read sometimes don't. Turn the car off on a previous working SD card and doesn't work again when turned back on.
5. Rain sensitive wipers won't stop wiping first thing in the morning. I think they sense the dew under the street lights as they are okay once it gets light.
6. Lots of different settings mentioned in the book are not available even though the GC is fitted with the option. e.g. Entry/Exit mode on the suspension is supposed the be a selectable check box function in the "Suspension" tab on the Uconnect.

On the aircon I was told by the dealer today that a fix is coming and in the meantime just suck it up. Leave the climate control off if I don't like it or open the window. Obviously the dealer didn't pay for the GC.
