Just a few more....

1. Bluetooth drops out continually while playing music
2. Seat does not always return to correct position on start
3. Radio reception lousy compared to other cars just outside suburbia....
4.rear air conditioning seems to be based on passenger settings and not on drivers..... or 50 / 50 dependant on side

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Hello All,

My 07/14 JGC Laredo CRD with 3000kms has the following issues;
  • Aircon issues as per most other posts
  • In the last 2 days, the Audio system has decided not to recognise the SD card ( please insert a card), until I eject/re-insert card
  • Clunking sounds from rear upper suspension mounts?
  • Cruise control Resume operates only when it feels like it
David

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I forgot to mention in my post above - the radio reception particularly on AM (MW) is pathetic at best. I have a 300c with a similar UConnect system and haven't had any of these problems.

Just my experience here regarding the SD card. If I take it out to add/resync music from my PC, when I reinsert the card it can take up to a 30/45 seconds, for it to 'reseat' and recognise. Sometimes a bit longer.

I used to get cranky with it and eject and reseat the card - but that just delayed it even more. I found that if I just wait, it does find it and subsequent driving cycles after that finds it within seconds of start-up.

I found this out within the first week of owning the Overland. But I now know that when I add new music I need to go through that 'reseat' process again.

I know that this thread is for 'problems' as a list and I appreciate that but just thought I'd post with regard to the SD card 'problem' because I play with it quite frequently.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

GC Laredo 3.6 - MY14 (Delivery 8/13)
1.Vehicle is slow when shifting in low gears; pulling away from stop lights/signs feels as if the car is not in drive and going to stall, leaving driveway and entering hill car does not engage drive and feels like will stall also

2.Rattle/shudder noise on driver side behind driver dash

3. Same as others with Air-Con having mind of its own, live in tropics but need to keep at 19c otherwise goes into heat mode in auto

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I'm looking at purchasing a 2014 GC Overland CRD and actually put a deposit on one today. Much to my surprise tonight I've found out the problems this model has?
Can anyone post if any of thse issues have been resolved by the dealers, or are they still outstanding?

Is there any satisfied owners out there?

Any info you have is appreciated, might save me from buying a lemon. Getting my 1k back from the dealer could be another drama.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I just had my GC Overland V8 1200km serviced and none of common faults have been fixed yet and the dealer told me they didn't know when they would be fixed. Hopefully before summer as the climate control is an issue. That said it is a nice ride and all other things about the GC seem to be great so if they can just fix these bugs and get some straight answers out to us Australian customers then I think we can all just get to enjoy what we have paid for!
