Like I said, I'm taking it in tomorrow, hopefully it's just a software issue, (but I seriously doubt it).
The clock spring is the device in the steering column that allows you to turn the wheel while not tangling all the wires going to the steering wheel buttons. Sounds like yours is faulty or possibly not seated correctly.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I got all of my steering wheel controls fixed, turns out there was a crushed wire under the horn that affected EVERYTHING!. The repair only took a couple of hours. It's all sorted, and now I can finally enjoy my GC.

2014 GC 'Blackhawk' CRD 1300kms

Rear Camera cycles between working 5% of the time flickering 10% of the time and Blue Screen 85% of the time. Been in for repair two hours later did it again.

Driving along dash started beeping at me and all the interior lights came on for no apparent reason, has done this a few times.

Auto Wipers come on on perfectly sunny days no traffic in front.

Auto headlights do not work (not that I can tell)

Seems that when the battery is flattened and car is jump started problem disappears, allbeit temporarily.

Car has been with dealers for total of 19 days so far.
Hi Jay Ay - Did you get that battery problem resolved. I am having exactly the same issue in 2014 CRD GC. Service claiming its an after market add on such as brake controller but can't fix the problem - Regards

MY14 Laredo CRD. 32,600km.

"Exhaust Filter Nearing Full" then "Service Throttle Control". MIL on and vehicle into limp mode. Vehicle towed to dealer.

Forced burn of DPF conducted and PCM update 14-104 applied to fix.

- Oil leaking from the passenger side of motor.

If you overfill the engine oil is would this be a symtom?
Apparently mine is the fourth one the dealer has seen doing this.

Oil leak again discovered at 17500km. Took back to dealer who confirmed there was too much oil everywhere to pin point. They cleaned it down and said come back in a week.
Took it back again, they said it was leaking but unable to tell where from as it had only leaked a small amount. This makes no logical sense to me. Told to drive it more and bring back.

Put another 1500km on it and took back. No sign of a leak apparently...

My GC must have created antibodies and healed itself.

Just put these together so any potential Grand Cherokee owners can make an informed decision.

2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Well I finally had the front knocking/rattle repaired today. After several months waiting the LHF strut assembly was replaced. It's like a new car, and about time.

While the dealer had the car they did the DPF TSB and a Uconnect update. I've never had any DPF problems, so the cynical side of me hopes the update doesn't introduce any

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

It would be really helpful if any of you posting with problems included a build date.

As for mine, built Jan14, no problems thus far apart from the occasional cruise control problem (software re flash fix) and still occasional diesel clatter as others have described.
Zero DPF issues at this stage, but still keen to get the December software flash update done ASAP which apparently fixes the clatter and does a better job of DPF regeneration.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

The dec 14 software fixed my blocked exhaust message and the cruise control not always working. Seems the software changes the temp parameters so the computer now accepts the different temp readings. My gc always stopped 4 ks from home bec computer thought it was running outside temp limits.. built 8/ 13 with vm motor. Paul

Hi Bigskiddy, Thanks for your support in the past. I see you have had many of the issue that my Grand has thrown at me. Have posted on the DPF forum about the PCM failure. I see your frustration with this vehicle as I am with mine with the continued ongoing defects that don't seem to be resolved totally. The fact that the PCM failed at the workshop whilst they where trying to update it has been an eye opener for them I feel. The fact no codes initially where present sums up their attitude (no codes no FAULT). I am sure I would have had this vehicle returned with the air-conditioning and the excessive clatter at times, if reasons for the PCM failure had not presented. The fact is with these vehicle, the computer system are not that good at detecting failures that the service guys are relying on to rectify problems. This air-conditioning issue has been present on this model since the introduction in June 2013 with the continued updates. I had been emailing them data for months what this aircon was doing only to find out nothing had been forwarded to JA. This has demonstrated the attitude of the service departments (NOT ALL) in AU being molded and just waiting for Jeep to fix things with little or no thought for the customer.
