Australian GC owners please post problems with your vehicle here.
Keep it factual and don't post comments regarding possible fixes or other sentiments. This is more of a statistical exercise to gauge the scope of issues.
Eg
Variant ...(Laredo CRD)
Problem... (Climate control not functioning)
I will also put regular links to this thread on Jeep Au Facebook page
My vehicle is a MY14 LTD. I have noticed the trim inside the tailgate on the passenger side, does not seem to line up, and feels like there is nothing underneath ad the trim seems to bounce. Has anyone else noticed this on their's. I am unsure if this is a design issue, or mine has a problem.
A couple of times, the radio has locked and can't change stations or do anything else. Still plays fine on the station it was set to. Next time started the car, all good.
When taking off with the QL at entry/exit it seems to get stuck with 'raising' continually flashing. Only stops when I put into sport mode or hit 100km and it goes into 'aero' height.
Had the digital speedo display 3 flat lines. Had to change it to the analog to know what my speed was.
Not a fault as such, but thought we should post our experiences with the pitiful resolution of the camera's that Jeep Australia supply for the Laredo.
The unit Jeep supply and fit is substandard; grainy fish eye picture in the day and useless at night. Not only that, it points too far down and gives no sense where the Jeep is in relation to the reversing path (though I get a good view of the number plate!). I find mine is useless for reversing between pylons at my parking bay as by the time I see the closest one I have already bumped into it.
Jeep Australia denies any issue with these cameras. They say it does the job, even though under consumer law they could be considered as not fit for purpose given its uselessnes at night. Jeep Australia also deny this is widespread problem and suggested that mine was fitted incorrectly. I referred them to the main Jeep Garage Australia site pages. Even my dealer sticks to the story that all is ok and apparently I'm their only customer who has complained about it. The dealer also says that the lens view cannot be adjusted from its downward position.
I have also expressed a similar view regarding the camera and am still waiting for a reply from the dealer. You don't show a location in your profile so it is hard to see if we are in the same area.
I keep getting the alarm - Service Air Suspension System - Immediately - Has done from 2 days old and dealership has no idea why. They just re-flash the module and hope all is going to be okay - It never leaves any error codes. Anyone else having this problem?
Yes I had a similar problem with air suspension a few weeks ago. It was a small hole in one of the airbags. Was off road for 3 weeks while one was ordered from US. All good now.
Hi,
Picked up new CRD Overland last week. 2 current issues:
1. Transmission shifts can be 1980'ish when lifting off throttle, apparently there is a fix for this.
2. Tailgate on passenger side is miss-aligned with the tail light and has chipped paint on the lip. We'll see what the dealer says about that one...
Here's a new one - ROOF LEAK in the Laredo. Mine is leaking from the plastic roof lining in front of the tailgate. It's running out of the joins either end. Sufficient to fill both the rear tie downs and wet the carpet. I noticed water stains on the cargo blind, which indicates it's probably been happening since day one off the production line. Quality control? Hmmmmmmm.
I suspect it may be either the grommet in the body that feeds the wiring to the tailgate, or the roof rail mounting points.
Dealer will be advised tomorrow. I have the recall notice for the N58 (although mine isn't showing any symptoms) so hopefully will get both rectified at the same time.
MY 2014 CRD Laredo July delivery 9600km. Engine oil leak. Dripping from area of sump plug (lowest point) but leak from some where else. Dealer had quick look but unable to find source because of accumulation of oil. Area washed, oil added and will look again next Friday at 10000km service.
Join the club. Ours has had the same leak you have described since August. Its been looked at 3 times, had the lower and upper sump seals replaced, last time it was in for 3 days. They were so happy they fixed it.... only for me to call the service manager the next day with the good news that it was still leaking. Goes in for attempt #4 on Thursday. My wifes dealing with them this time.... no more mr nice guy
Interesting situation since my 10000 km service. I found a small leak of oil from the sump plug just before leaving for my trip from Brisbane to Perth. Whilst the leak wasn't a major concern, I wasn't prepared to travel the Nullarbor and not have this looked into. I discussed the issue with my current service manager in Brisbane and whilst they had said they had some failures with the sump washer, it was more concerning that after a service check in Adelaide today, they identified that the sump plug that had been replaced after the service was not genuine and therefore did not properly seal the sump. So I now have a genuine part and a new belly of oil to test before I leave this weekend for Perth. I can't say that this may fix some of your oil issues, but you might like to check to ensure you have the right parts on your vehicles. The concern from the Adelaide service department was that maybe the thread had been damaged with the non genuine parts which would cause the leak.
Diesel Limited. Have the issue where the air con blows hot on one side and cold on the other. From reading this thread it sounds pretty common. I assume it's a dealer fix?
Dealer to dealer transfer means that you ordered the car from your dealer who took the car already sit on the floor of another dealer who originally got it from the factory
I figured that's what you mean, but I don't think it was necessarily transferred from another dealer. I bought a car they had in stock. I didn't order and wait, I put my deposit down and picked up the car a few days later once finance was sorted and my towbar was fitted. They still do a pre delivery process for new cars in stock. Uconnect was up to date and the N58 recall work was done (on Dec 30 they told me) so it's odd that they missed this.
Have recently purchased new MY14 3.0 CRD GC Limited (July 14 US build date) and notice (particularly with audio off) an annoying dull rattle from rear at low speed on less than perfect bitumen - sounds like rear shocks.
Standard (not air lift) suspension.
I have been back three times with my crd overland due to a rattle. First two times they said it was from sunroof the last time I took the dealer with me as it mainly occurs on highway driving and said it was coming from underneath the car that a peice if metal is loose and hitting another one. Hopefully all fixed now.
Now the weather has been hot in Melbourne I have noted the outside temperature display doesn't update for quite a while when I leave work of a night. It is interesting that it seems to respond at the same point in my journey home which is about 20 minutes after I head out of the office and I get up to "aero" speed on the freeway.
hi...i spowk to Jeep about this. im also in Melbourne...they informed me that you have to be driving for approx ten mins at about 60kmh for the temp gauge to change...this is because when sitting idle you get the heat from the cars in front exhausts so doesnt give a true indication...my car hasnt changed in three days becuase of this cause my business is stop start in the city and never drive for ten mins straight without stopping. hope this helps
After a fantastic 6000kms of ownership, I have just succumbed to the dreaded limp mode.
Electronic Throttle control (flashing) and diesel regeneration message along with the check engine light.
Stuck in forth gear and little power.
Tray back to Jeep tomorrow…..
The car has been great until now. Owned diesel cars for some years and never had a regen problem. This car was on the freeway only over a week returning from a trip and hash't done extended city driving in the meantime. I did however have cause to move it around the front yard three times yesterday (started and stopped each time) and didn't drive anywhere. Not long periods of idling though…..
:-(

Forced regen they tell me today. I fear they have seen several MY14s with the same issue. Only once though then they are ok........ (Hold breath).
Servicing dealer have been responsive (thanks).
I would raise some form of official complaint.
This is not warning as it should. In the US, the warning comes on before limp mode is enforced. As a warning should, tells you there is about to be a problem, and you can now fix the issue yourself.
Did your past diesels have DPFs? Many don't now, and most didn't in the past.

On the way home from taking delivery, I leaved the EVIC display in Message menu. Guess what suddenly pop up on this screen. It's '...regeneration in progress...' the total mileage was only 15km. So my hunch is that there is early warning message but only visible in Message display. Since then I always select Message as default display in EVIC.
Last car of five years was an NS Pajero - well known for its DPF issues but didn't get me.
Just thankful we weren't away or towing the van like last week.
