Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

For General Update purposes on the Climate Control issue experienced by many

This has been fixed now with the Service Bulletin released recently.
Those who have had it applied say the problem has been fixed.

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2400113.pdf

SUBJECT:
Automatic Temperature Control Does Not Properly Synchronize Driver and Passenger Outlet Temperature

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the HVAC Module with new software.

MODELS:
2014 (WK) Grand Cherokee (International Only)

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (sales code HAF) and Right Hand Drive (sales code XXH) built on or before July 29, 2013 (MDH 0729XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience the following condition:
• When using the Automatic Temperature Control “SYNC” mode, panel outlet
temperature will intermittently change to full hot on the left side of the vehicle and full cold on the right side regardless of the desired temperature setting. The condition will typically invert to full cold on the left side and full hot on the right after a period of time.

Updating the HVAC software will correct this condition.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

My GC Ltd CRD 2014 exhibits all the common faults mentioned plus engine vibration and has been at the dealers for the past 7 weeks and I still don't know when I will have it returned. Can't be driven because of the engine vibration and Jeep haven't figured out the problem as yet. I believe its a great vehicle even only driving it for 120km, if only Jeep would get their act together in Australia.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Hi There,

Bought ours a week ago, Laredo CRD with QL.

Having same issues with Climate ctrl and cruise ctrl when you hold any of the buttons.
Also Quadra lift doesn't show when your in normal ride height mode in dash.
When in offroad 2, loud thudding from suspension when going over small bumps even at very low speed.

Dealer says they are working on a fix for the U connect system.

Other than that, what a car to drive, endless power and torque, comfortable and looks great.
Cheers, Matt

Re the window washers,
I noticed the water from under the bonnet as well.
Looked into further and it seems it is the headlamp washers.
Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I just bought a Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel, last week. Now just under 700kms, not been off-road or in low range yet.

  • Nav system froze on day 3 in enter address screen. Registered all button presses but didn't change anything and deactivated phone connection, continued to be stuck on the same screen even after turning the car off and locking/unlocking. Left it off for 10mins while on the phone to the dealer and when next started it had reset and worked ok since.
  • Clock above speedo started displaying dashes instead of hours, mintues displayed ok, clock on main LCD displayed correctly.
  • Took it in to dealer, couldn't find a problem with these two issues, booked for a more comprehensive follow-up in a couple of weeks.
  • Two days later, a throttle control warning flashed on the display then the Diesel Filter 100% full warning came on and the car suddenly lost most of it's power (acceleration), as I was pulling out into traffic. The message said to drive at highway speeds to clean but I couldn't get it above 70k/hr (with high revs). The orange engine symbol and red thunderbolt symbol between brackets both started flashing.
  • Through limping back to the dealer I noticed that it was stuck in 4th gear which probably explains the sluggishness and inability to get over 70.
  • Not necessarily a fault, but annoying - the streets immediately around my house do not exist, (roads have been there for a couple of years, probably a few more years on the plans) and the turn by turn voice instructions do not mute during a bluetooth call making it heard to hear the conversation.
The car is at the dealers, they can't find the fault/solution and are waiting for a response from Jeep Australia. The car is otherwise great to drive and I can't wait to get it back, permanently fixed!

Cheers.

From what I've read elsewhere, Jeep do recommend the use of a WDH. If nothing else, it will reduce workload on the quadralift trying to level the load imposed by the caravan.

I just picked my Jeep up from the Dealer today. They had the car for a couple of days and had to get advice from Jeep Australia. Apparently this wasn't the only occurence of the problem and the Diesel Filter, 4th Gear Limp Mode and Throttle Control problems were all caused by the car sitting for many hours at idle during the transport and delivery process which was viewed in the download report. I would have thought that would mean all Jeeps at least on that delivery, would have the same issue, or there was something different done to my car or it has something else wrong.

Anyway it's currently working well again and is great to drive after a couple of days in a little Kia loaner. Was told it will never happen again, will have to see...
