Damien, can you tell me the version of your uConnect software please.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Today I tried for the first time to put "home" into the satnav on my GC Overland and it wouldn't allow me to do it, just stopped at the final screen - has anyone else encountered this? Also voice instructions don't work it replies voice command is not supported in the country selected.

Hi Greg,

I had a similar problem where I tried to enter in a destination name (e.g. the name of a pub) and the GPS unit froze on that page. I was able to use the buttons at the bottom of the screen to browse to and use radio/climate/media etc but the GPS screen stayed frozen. I had to stop the vehicle (I really wanted to find this particular pub) for a little over 10 mins for the unit to reset.

Just so you guys are aware, there are updates available for the radios. You can either get them done through Chrysler/UConnect/Your Dealer.

Keep it factual and don't post comments regarding possible fixes or other sentiments. This is more of a statistical exercise to gauge the scope of issues.

Eg
Variant ...(Laredo CRD)
Problem... (Climate control not functioning)

I will also put regular links to this thread on Jeep Au Facebook page

Thanks
My Overland diesel when in Drive, at suburban speeds(60-80k), downshifts when descending steep inclines. It's almost as if it knows the speed limit and tries to hold the vehicle to that speed. It will sometimes shift as low as 3rd and doesn't shift up again when the descent is finished. I sometimes paddle shift up but it will shift down again.

This is a normal behaviour if you have touched the brake. The vehicle knows you are trying to keep speed. If you were to touch the gas peddle it would return to normal. This the same transmission in the BMW X5 as well as various others and they all do this to save the brakes from unneeded wear.

Thanks for that. I'm pleased it's not broken.

Has anyone noticed that in low range with hill descent engaged, rolling down a fairly steep hill on bitumen surface at walking pace or less, a grating, grinding, not very nice noise comes out of the transfer case?

My Overland accepted my Home input, and generally responds to a "go home" voice instruction. Mine doesn't like a "navigate to" voice instruction, responding as you describe. My dealer thinks voice commands are not supported, but I find it difficult to accept that "home" works but nothing else does.

This is normal operation Barry. It concerned me when I first heard it as well when in HD. I did find a JG thread that explained it - I'll attempt to find it again for you. Basically, it's a normal sound in that particular mode albeit, not one that you listen to regularly, hence your .

ETA: Found the thread:

first use of hill descent control .... problem?

VR giving a Nav address at the moment is not supported by the software. As you have found out, only 'Go Home' works. Expect a fix for this in the (hopefully) near future.

If any one has purchased a full set of bash plates (supply only) from a dealer and you're happy to divulge such info, could you please let me know what you paid? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not post it up.
