Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Recall Notice N58-13 - Notification

Why are so many Chrysler/Jeep dealerships having issues performing this recall? What is it with all these damn software problems.

My instrument panel hasn't had any issues (knock on wood), but I'm almost afraid to take my Jeep in for this recall.

So many? I see 2 people posting about it, many more between this thread and the other that haven't had any issue... I guess if there were 3 dealerships in the country that would be a lot.

Any dealer that took more than an hour, I would categorize as a problem.

What a freaken mess.

I suspect there will be another TSB for the TSB.

I can sort of get on board with that. I thought GCLimited was referencing the 1 dealership that said they wouldn't do the recall because it bricked the vehicle and the other whose screen died.

Although it feels like another JeepGarage mountain out of a mole hill, I expect the words "sue" and "lemon" to start getting flung around any second. For the great problems inflicted and these poor owners...

Fanboy...

This issue...along with all the other software issues the 2014 GC has had is what I was refering to, or have you been asleep all this time.

Losing your instrument panel display...or having it "light up like a Christmas tree" is not an important issue for you? Why do you keep defending a company that can't even get the temperature display right the first time?

Come on, you got to have something better than Fanboy. But seriously, I don't disagree that a screen going blank is an issue, absolutely. My comment about mountain out of a mole hill was people losing their crap because it took the dealer longer than quoted to complete an update. My comments about "sue" and "lemon" was in jest of the over reactions in posts in other threads. To be clear, I was not referring to you.

There is just so much else going on in life I feel like I'd be suicidal if I got upset about minor things... *NOTE, I am NOT saying a screen going blank is minor, that was not my point.

Yes, I am an idiot (just saving you the trouble). You have your opinion and provide it, I have my opinion and provide it and while they may not always match you don't necessarily need to resort to petty insults. I am taking my ball and going home.

I had some other "choice" words I could have used, but I most likely would have been kicked off this site.

I hear you, but most of the people I read here who have got a lawyer involved have had the more serious issues with their GC. As for the dealerships with their incompetence or indifference...not only should this latest recall NOT take 3 or more hours, but I recently was denied software updates that I know are out there. Very fustrating.

Point taken, but belittling the issues I've personally had with my Jeep (or others have had on this site) is not playing nice either.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Recall Notice N58-13 - Notification

I'm still hoping to hear that they will be sending out an all new/improved (hopefully working) radio/nav. I'm getting a bit ticked off that I have to keep taking time off from work to drop my vehicle off at the dealership to get these so called updates (that haven't worked) so that my vehicle works. I've always been a GM girl and this is my first Jeep. This is NOT a good first impression.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Recall Notice N58-13 - Notification

I was driving yesterday and my Jeep posted a CEL. I ran diagnostics and got error code U0121 - Lost Communication with Anti-Lock Break System, and U0140 - Lost Communication with Body Control Module. A week or two ago I was driving and my gauge cluster was completely off. I turned the Jeep off and on and it returned to normal so I thought it was just a one time glitch. Needless to say after the CEL I took it in. I'm at the dealer now getting the recall work done.

Just got back from picking up my Jeep from the dealership. Recall performed with no issues. Took them 2.5 hours.
