Wow, I would be pissed as well. If the service guy said that to me, I would be asking for the manager or higher ups in the dealership, unacceptable.

I agree with a vehicle that costs as much as it does you should not be having these types of issues. Both Snofire and myself are expecting our vehicles shortly. Is there anyway that you could take a picture of the liftgate issue? I would really appreciate it if you could. I just want to know where to look for the alignment issue when mine arrives. I agree with you...I would have flipped out if they scratched the leather and damaged the dash. I on my 12th car in 9 years. The moment something like that happens it is on to the next for me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

If it's like my liftgate, the gap is 1-2mm or so closer on one side than the other. Perhaps that is closer than some of the other ones here, but the gaps are pretty tight on both sides, so I don't know how much more it could be off -- but it's definitely wider on one side than the other.

Chevyboy started a thread that deals with the liftgate issues. It also has a satisfaction poll for all new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

I was reading in the manual about seat memory. It showed a button to hit to program it. My summit does not have a memory button. Is this how it should be?

No buttons on the driver's door, under the arm rest?

Should be a button on the the door right below the arm rest with numbers 1 and 2 on it to save the seat position. My wife and I use this all the time since she prefers to sit closer and more straight, and I prefer to sit back and reclined a bit. I don't understand her mirror position as well and it drives me nuts trying to use her settings, so I made sure this was programmed right away.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Duh thanks guys...clearly need to spend more time looking. I was looking on the side of seat. My stupidity here. In my opinion it should be there but can't do anything about the design. On a different issue...it rained pretty hard here in wisconsin this afternoon and the auto windshield wipers are not working. I did put a bit more thought/research in this as I have already verified that the option has been selected in the uconnect. It was raining today and I could barely see through the windshield and I just kept thinking "it is going to turn on soon" and no joy...they never did. Any thoughts other than calling the dealership?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

You have the option set in uconnect, but do you have the wiper turned to the first on position setting? I learned this the hard way too. If you don't turn it on to the first setting, it will never activate and adjust to the amount of rain and will think you want the system to be off. Try it and then put your hand over the sensor and you should see the wipers respond as if it were raining and adjust speeds accordingly. If that doesn't work, then you really do have an issue that needs to be looked at.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Ok thanks Specx, appreciate the help. I just went out and I turned to first position and the wipers do not run. I assume they are waiting for it to rain now and will engage when it rains. I guess I will find out when it rains again. I tried putting my hand over the sensor in the middle of the dash but the wipers do not turn on still. Is that what you are talking about or is there another sensor?
