I did put a bit more thought/research in this as I have already verified that the option has been selected in the uconnect. It was raining today and I could barely see through the windshield and I just kept thinking "it is going to turn on soon" and no joy...they never did. Any thoughts other than calling the dealership?
There are 2 positions past the auto positions, slow and fast, so that even if the auto sensor doesn't work, you can turn them on. You can also turn the switch in the opposite direction "mist mode" that will give you one swipe.

As for the memory switch, they are usually located on the door. Remember, it is not just seat memory. It is also mirror position and radio options ... maybe even something else.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Perfect. When I get home this evening I had planned to test the windshield wiper functions with a garden hose. It is just now warm enough that I can turn on my outdoor water supply. I instead have to drop it off at the dealership. One of my coworkers on his lunch break was looking at my wheels and noticed that there was a lot of grease in the inside and outside of the rom. He believes that there's maybe a missing bearing or something causing the grease to leak. My beautiful remnants now have grease speckled all over them. While it's in there I'm also going to have them check out the sunroof as there is a little bit of arrival. Kind of disappointing but hey it's a new car I guess are going to be some kinks to work out.

I instead have to drop it off at the dealership. One of my coworkers on his lunch break was looking at my wheels and noticed that there was a lot of grease in the inside and outside of the rim. He believes that there is a missing bearing or broken bearing or something causing the grease to leak. My beautiful rim now has grease speckled all over it. While it's in there I'm also going to have them check out the sunroof as there is a little bit of a rattle. Also going to make sure that the steering wheel bracket has been removed. Kind of disappointing but hey it's a new car I guess are going to be some kinks to work out. Just hoping these are easy fixes...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

The Chrysler Technician (Scott Miller) came from timbuktu to work on mine today. He was on it all day. When he left he was telling me he was unable to fix it, but a new update was coming out in the next few weeks that would fix the problems (all stemming from uconnect 8.4an) He told me that until the update came out i would have to stand on my head, do 20 hail marys and spin backwards, or the battery would still be dead each morning. Well low and behold, they convinced me to drive it home after almost 20 days in the service department. On my way home it was like a miracle occurred. All of a sudden everything that has been missing from the radio appeared. Apps were back, all of it. I'm now waiting to see if the battery will be dead tomorrow morning, but even the dash lights are cycling off properly, so i think it might actually be fixed. I've learned so much from this all that Chrysler should hire me to be an engineer. Sorry to be so lively about this stuff, but I AM TRULY AMAZED!

Angry Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

I purchased my 1st American made verhicle in the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and took delivery on April 6th. Four days later my husban and I took an 11 hour trip and 3 hours into it our nav system froze on screen then in the cluster, then the whole screen went white. We pulled over at a gas station, turned off car and when we turned back on about 5 minutes later is said "navigation is being activated". We tried calling everyone under the sun and ultimatly took to nearby (45 minutes away) Jeep dealer. That message remained entire time. Well we arrived at dealer in time for their lunch break and waiting 2 hours for the to tell us it seemed fine, but was documented with Chrysler... Way home, similar deal only no white screen, but froze up completely. We took to our local dealer where we purchased once home and they were able to replicate the issues, and had an open order with Chrysler, but no answers... As time has gone on the electonic issues have continued and the system is deteriorating daily. Not a day goes by we don't have an issue... the time is wrong, the temp and compass in the nav uconnect screen and the dash cluster are different, the radio is on, but no sound, can't use bluetooth, but can't use handset of cell either, nav works, doesn't work, works but doesn't talk to you, dash cluster freezes, can't turn on/off seat heaters, settings not saving, and now (as of this morning), my dash cluster threw me a warning "air suspension system cooling please wait". My car was back in dealer for the entire week of April 29th. They worked with Chrysler and were told its the computer/radio system in the car and to replase it. Chrysler was sending them the part. Now I am being told the ETA is May 20th I have numerious calls into Chrylser as that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! This is not only an issue with performance, Chryslers willingness to serve their customers, but now it appears to be a safety issue.... what happens when my computer tells my car i've been in an accident and to release my air bag as i'm driving 75 (or more) down the highway???? Maybe that's the wakeup Chrysler is waiting for!!! Anyway, I have daily pics and videos of the issues that I am cateloging and will release to every social media site available if Chrysler doesn't step up! I for one am not impressed with this "superior" product!!!

Hoo boy, do I feel for you. My brand new Jeep shut off in the middle of driving - once for me, once for my wife after it was "fixed." They found a ground issue, replaced the ABS module, now it's at the dealer for four days for a "Service 4WD System" error. I don't think they know what to do at this point.

Starting to think these cars weren't ready for production yet. Chrysler is giving me the runaround when they even reply to me at all.

Good luck. I think I will be switching to a different brand once the lawyers get my money back on this one. I don't want to, but I just can't take the chance on another one.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Not sure if the jeeps are the same. Bug when the Toureag first came out if the keys were kept in close proximity to the car, the car would stay awake and kill the battery. Where do you keep your car keys? Close to the car or do you bring them inside away from the car. I'm sure the engineers thought of this but it's worth a shot.

If you are seriously concerned that the air bag might not go off, maybe you should slow down until they get it fixed.

If that statement is just for dramatic effect ... put that pedal to the metal.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Just oicked uo my new orederd ( 5 weeks to the day!) Limited with the 8.4 AN system and knock on wood have seen no problems yet. To be honest I have gone over the entire vehicle with a very fine tootahed comb and yet have seen a single issue. Paint is flawless, seams are perfect. Just let mu buddy who has and MDX drive the GC and he says it beats the hell out of it. Only 200 miles so we will see. This is my 3rd jeep and this one is by far the best

Still trying to figure out why there is oil leaking from under my summit. it seams to be coming from the filter, but can't tell for sure. It sure smells bad. i guess it is back in to the service dept. on Monday.
