Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

[QUOTE=Lizzie17;858758]I have not had the same problems that you are indicationg, but I just bought a new Summitt in June and my FM radio reception is horrible and the auxillary jack is broken. I brought it back to the dealer only to be told that the usb is better to use for ipods and iphones, and that I must just be used to the clarity of xm radio. I am so angry I contacted Uconnect directly and then they reached out to the dealer only to be pushed off as well. I dont know where to go from here.

Contact Chrysler on that (website customer care) and or find another dealer. That is not right at all.

ok well that is another discussion, but if the aux input jack is broken, who the F&%@ are they to just brush the customer off?

Bad dealer experiences make me as mad as they make you AMC.

I am having great dealer support with my issue regarding the blind spot is not working however Chrsyler has yet to reply to my START ticket the dealer with them.

I called the Delaware Lemon Law and they have one more try to repair and fix this blind spot or it is a lemon. I will litigate. I like this feature and will not sit of this.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

Front passenger side body molding has come unglued on mine. Not a big deal to fix but a hassle non the less, and something that in my mind, sould never happen. Seriously a cheap Part n an otherwise gorgeous vehicle. Will get a photo up tomorrow.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

I am thinking of buying a summit w uconnect. Did any of the software updates help those of you that had problems in the spring? Jeep looks awesome w killer features but not if they are all broken. Any info appreciated.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit issues!

I have had a couple minor Uconnect issues -- stuttering while playing back from iPod, NAV not remembering where I was going after I shut off the vehicle for an hour (to get lunch/dinner), that sort of thing. All minor inconveniences. Uconnect issues would be the least of my worries when buying a GC. Chrysler has been very quick with software updates -- and you can even install those yourself (which is very cool). And the Uconnect system itself has to be the best infotainment/NAV system I have ever used, bar none.

I have had my Summit since early April and really love this vehicle. Forums tend to skew things to the negative. The amount of things that are right with my Summit far out weigh the few minor issues that may come up with uconnect. The HK audio system is outstanding, likely the best system in any vehicle under 100K. Current issues are minor and software related, which means easily loaded as updates are released. The only real hardware or possibly firmware issue was with a wireless card in the radio on early builds. New orders won't have the issue.

Got the 13.19 update X2. New Uconnect head unit, swapped out a radar control module and something to do with the park sense (not sure of exact names) with "known" good unit from other Jeep. no changes, Not sure about nav, I have never made it out of the parking lot without duplicating issues I'm being told are fixed.

Rather sad too. I really liked it other than all the glitches. Bottom line is it wasn't ready to go to market. I'd wait until the end of the year and make sure you get a new build, not anything from the lot. even then, you'll need a good checklist to verify everything

I appreciate your stance, But I'm calling shenanigans.. I have all the updates as of 7 Jul. And still have the issues. If it is only software why are they changing out other control modules? Do you realize the Uconnect interacts with your braking system? The cruise/throttle response, etc..

My build was in June. Is that considered an early build? Plus the HK system in my summit has no where near the sound quality of my 10 Cadillac CTS.

And here is another view. I paid --say it slowly--forty eight thousand dollars. I Demand that I get a product that works properly from the start. I'm not willing to wait months for updates.

Would anyone accept even minor issues like this with a computer you paid $700 for? A $600 phone? even a $1500 TV set? I doubt it..
